So I expected to see a lot of “Clemson is overrated” posts in today’s SEC rant echo chamber.
I only deal in facts so here are two that are indisputable: 1. Clemson is the only team that has beaten aTm at home this season and 2. aTm gave mighty Alabama all they could handle at home last year.
Until other SEC teams step up and beat aTm on the road in a nationally televised night game, calling Clemson overrated is talking out your arse

This is fair. I don't know why SEC fans are acting like A&M is without talent. Rather, A&M's roster is probably in the top 10 based strictly off talent. I thought A&M would beat Clemson. And, from top to bottom comparing the rosters I think it's damn near a wash between Clemson and A&M.

A&M didn't get within 2 possessions in the 2nd half until there were 17 seconds left. The game went 24-3, 24-10, 24-12, 27-12 from halftime to the 20 seconds left in the game mark. "All we could handle" is a bit of an exaggeration.
A win is a win, but don't try that nonsense.

Just remember the war you just endured against the 3rd-5th best team in the SEC West the next time you laugh at SEC West teams talking about how almost every week is a grind in our division.
Compare last night to playing on the road at Wake Forest or Louisville. There is no comparison. That doesn't make Clemson worse, but it should make you reconsider flippantly laughing away that argument.

Love it when LSU fans call another team overrated...

I agree, no slight at TAMU, they played a whale of a game. That said, a first year coach in a massive program shift should not have been able to do what they did.
I think TAMU will be up and down and could finish with 5 losses.
Which leaves Clemson as over rated.

Hoping Dawgs get that soft arse Clemmons offense in the CFP to get to 43-18 all time against that assclown dabo.

I agree the SEC West looks solid top to bottom this year. It will be a grind this year for any of those teams. I also agree the ACC appears less talented this season.
That said, Clemson had to grind through a much tougher ACC schedule last year (VaTech Louisville on the road)including OOC games against Auburn and USC from the SEC, and had to play Miami in the ACC championship while Bama sat home on the couch. Ease of schedule to the CFP changes for teams annually. This year Clemson has an easier path.

Louisville stunk last season. Virginia Tech was average at best. Miami proved to be overrated and weak. South Carolina was also average at best. Alabama probably lucked out not going to their title game (because the opponent would have been the team we played for the national title) but they would have waltzed through that schedule Clemson played just as easily as Clemson did (including an early game at home against an Auburn team figuring things out).
Look, Clemson is great. The ACC has been better than normal the last few years and the SEC takes up a lot of the air in the room and sometimes rightly gets laughed at when it goes bad.
But generally, the idea that week in and week out the SEC West involves going to big loud stadiums to play NFL athletes is almost always true. And people have been so jealous of it the last decade that they always like to laugh and act like it's not a real thing. It is.
Clemson would do fine in it because they are a program filled with great coaches and really good NFL players. But nobody else in that league would.

Remember when Alabama could have lost to a 7-6 team, or the 5th best team in the West? I remember that, too.
Settle down.

The game where A&M scored with 17 seconds left to cut it to 8? Yea, we were on the ledge.
Clemson is really good. They had some areas that hadn't been previously discussed as weaknesses look like weaknesses last night. However, they'll have 3 months to figure it out.

That chick Clemson played at QB some last night wasn’t quite what she was cracked up to be. She showed promise, but she’s definitely no Tua.

Maybe the Aggies are really good.

No. A&M was still in a different conference...

Aggies suck and will be 2-2 paying a coach 75 million

Clemson didn't play or coach that well last night, but still won (good teams are supposed to do that). I don't care for Sinbo personally because of the crap he defended at F$U, but he can be a really good game day coach (he was last night). Clemson may not have the toughest schedule but they sure seem to get the opponents best shot a lot.

This happened quite frequently under Sumlin.

A&M was in the Big 12 in 2013? 2017?

Mond was lucky he wasn't picked off like 5 times in the game. They had good fortune on offense including a deflection for a touchdown.

2-2 start. 10-2 finish including the first of many rapings of corndog-U.

Clemson was lucky that one of the best kickers in college football missed a 26-yarder.
Bryant was lucky his screen pass in the 2nd Clemson drive was only a 2-yard loss instead of a 30 yard interception return by the DE.
Clemson was lucky that Mond cramped up, allowing Starkel to Starkel it up, fumbling into a defender's hands.
Bryant was lucky his receiver didn't get called for blatant pass interference on the 3rd Clemson TD drive.
