That's ok, because Clemson is NUMBER 1 IN FUN, according to the OP.

That shite sounds to me like an award you'd get as a runner-up to a million dollar sweepstakes.

Number One in Fun and a year's supply of Preparation H.

Congrats on the last 2 wins. Didn't get to see the UGA game. Your QB is really good. Enjoy this year but if you don't win the crystal don't expect to be this close for quite a while.

Nice to see a 1pt victory in the final seconds makes you feel like your team is dominating a conference. Good Luck--Ask yourself if you would rather play a SEC team in NC or someone from another conference?

My point is if SEC has a lot of awesome teams, how is one , maybe 2 teams able to dominate the league each year? You think they would rough each other up, you see this in ACC basketball a lot, everybody beating everybody. We all know Bama going to take the prize in SEC, so why is SEC the best, they jsut a doormat to Bama. Clemson just as capable of losing to Bama, so is Wake Forest. So why aren't 'we just as awesome? LOL

You have to be at most 19 years old, and holy shite the education in South Carolina must be fricking terrible. You're stupid.

So much fail :

quote:

I think ACC is actually the best conference with traditional powers FSU, Miami, Va Tech, Clemson and solid programs like G Tech, NC State, and now adding Lousville, Syracuse.

Florida State is not a traditional power. They had a great run under Bowden and won 2 MNC's back when the ACC was the suck of college football with only 9 teams and no real competition and it was easy for FSU to have lots of wins. Since the ACC went to 12 the folks in Florida State has fallen from their rocketship ride of Free Shoes University. FSU has a losing record to Alabama(1-2), Auburn (4-13-1), Florida (21-34-2), Georgia (4-6-1), and Kentucky (1-4-1). Holy Christ who besides Florida State has that bad of a record against FSU? With their roots as a women's college and a history that only goes back to the end of World War II they have had 1 good coach and no real success before that and will fade now that Bowden has retired.

Miami was a nothing program until the 1980's and benefitted greatly from the cocaine cowboys of the era. They rode the rocketship to the top for the 80's and 90's (but they were not in the ACC at that time) and have fallen greatly with ACC membership. Miami in the ACC is a joke and not a traditional power. It seems you love to give the ACC credit for others wins when they were not in the ACC. B1G does that with Penn State and Nebraska and nobody take them seriously either.

Virginia Tech has not won a single MNC and Beamer is reaching the end of the road. They had a good performance from 1900 to 1930's when they were in the SoCon (the mother conference of the current SEC) and then had many losing seasons till Beamer got there. They are certainly no traditional power and have no MNC's so they are on their way back to obscurity or did you not watch the Bama crushing this past weekend?

Clempson is not a a traditional power and had always been a red headed stepchild of Auburn. Most of what Clemson is they owe to Auburn without the success the Auburn Tigers have enjoyed. They had one good season in the early 80's and act like they are a football superpower. Hell, they are no longer even #1 in their home state of SC. Clemson has dropped the last 4 to the Cocks so keep dreaming of how Clemson is a traditional power because dreams are all you have.

Georgia Tech is probably the only national power in the ACC and most of that power came from when they were in the SEC. 3 MNC's in the SEC and 1 split MNC in the ACC confirms the loss of national power status once the Yellow Jackets moved to the ACC.

NC State = National Power

Louisville = National Power

Syracuse = National Power (1 MNC in the 50's when they were not a ACC member)

SEC vs ACC MNC's - BCS MNC game titles in BOLD
Alabama = 1925, 1926, 1930, 1934, 1941, 1961, 1964, 1965, 1973, 1978, 1979, 1992, 2009, 2011, 2012
Tennessee = 1938, 1940, 1950, 1951, 1967, 1998
Georgia = 1927, 1942, 1946, 1968, 1980
Florida = 1996, 2006, 2008
LSU = 1958, 2003, 2007
Ole Miss = 1959, 1960, 1962
Georgia Tech (SEC) = 1917, 1928, 1952
Auburn = 1957, 2010
Florida State = 1993, 1999
Georgia Tech (ACC) = 1990
Clemson = 1981
Kentucky = 1950
Maryland = 1953

Notre Dame has 11 MNC's but none as a ACC member
Pittsburgh has 9 MNC's but none as a ACC member
Miami has 5 MNC's but none as ACC member
Texas A&M has 3 MNC's but none as a SEC member
Arkansas has 1 MNC but none as a SEC member
Boston College has 1 MNC but not as ACC member
Syracuse has 1 MNC but not as ACC member

Duke and UNC are top basketball programs every year and win titles or come close but that doesn't mean ACC is top conference every year.

Yeah, UK still dominates them in the hardware department! Without ESPN to promote the ACC in the modern era the gap would be even wider.

Is SEC really the best conference if their top programs lose to Clemson?

Nope. ACC is head and shoulders above every other conference in football, including NFL.

that's because ACC schools focus on academics unlike SEC schools. we don't apologize for it.

ACC has sone good academic schools but they have some bad ones too. Considering one of the ACC's AAU schools (Maryland) is moving to the B1G and Syracuse was just stripped of their AAU status that academic argument is getting weaker. SEC has 4 AAU schools and looking at the ARWU for 2013 here are the ACC or SEC schools in the Top 50 :

23 Duke University
30 University of North Carolina
35 Vanderbilt University
43 University of Florida

Both conferences have 2 schools in the Top 50 so all that academic smack talk is moot especially when you look at Florida State, Clemson, and Louisville as being well below AAU status.
