Clemson fans are the worst.

Ran into a old lady at the gas station who was wearing a bright orange sweatshirt with tiger paws all over it and purple pants. She noticed my gamecock hat and asked if I was going to the game Saturday to which I replied yes i am. She then said "your fans are too obnoxious, I'll never go back. We don't act like that in Clemson. In fact I think most SEC fans are rude like SC fans."
I didn't know how to respond so I just walked away...

She’s not wrong. Been to USCe once, Sep 29, 2001. Cocks came back from down 12 in the 4th Q to beat Franchione. Some of the worst fans I’ve ever seen. They have no idea how to act after a win and the adults made middle schoolers look like mature, civilized people. It was embarrassing
Edit: and it wasn’t just a few, it was the vast majority of the crowd. My wife and I were in college at the time and couldn’t believe a bunch of 50 year olds were acting like 5 year old brats.

Actually saw Ole Miss comeback from double digits in Oxford in the rain same year, they were bad too, but not as bad as the USCe fans.
Took my son to Oxford last year and sat amidst almost all Rebel fans. They were actually pretty cool, despite Bama winning a close one.

I'm legitimately never rude to any away fans and often invite them to my tailgate. I also go to away games with the expectation that the fact I'm wearing my teams colors will invite the worst of every fan base to target me. It is what it is.This post was edited on 11/24/23 at 11:21 am

I lived in Greenville for three years and I've been to games in Columbia and Clemson. Clemson fans are far more obnoxious than Carolina fans.
