Fact of the matter is that Tech needs a DI P5 football program as a marketing tool to keep them relevant to donors and new applicants, same as every other major university in this country has had to do since the early 1900s.
That they choose to only marginally invest in the product on the field is the school adminstration's fiscal prerogative and has nothing to do with morality. If Tech wanted, they could do the same as Stanford has done and invest in a national recruiting strategy that plays off of its academic prestige. They simply don't want to pay up to compete with either the Stanfords or the UGAs of the world. Paul Johnson and the triple option offense simply represent the most affordable choice for the ROI: some occasional decent seasons to rile up the students and donor base but nothing that'll break the bank.

You mean the #4 run D in the SEC that held Snell to 73 yards? I think we’ll win by 10 + points.
Eh, we held him to 81 yards. Not sure how relevant either is to this particular matchup.

That's hilarious. Did you miss the part about the vacated conference championship?
Was that a matter of goodwill by the athletics department? Or a repercussion of the morals.
I also like GT playing ineligible players and then playing it off like it was an accounting error.
GT has morals. They have taken the athletic program down to the same level as the morals.

Win how? To what level? More than Johnson? Bobby Ross had 1 incredible season, a couple of mediocre ones and like 3 train wrecks. O'Leary and Johnson are just about the same in terms of winning %.
Can they compete for ACC championships every so often? Yes, but they are already doing that.
O'Leary finished ranked in the top 25 in his last 5 seasons.
Paul Johnson has been ranked 3 times. Twice with Gailey's players (recruiting was not one of Gailey's issues). And Paul johnson has finished ranked once in the past 8 seasons.
GT can do far better. Better recruiting. Better on the field. And better in terms of national prominence.
But I'm not complaining with ol turkey neck on the sidelines. Especially if UGA has stability on the defensive side of the ball with Kirby.

I am worried about the game and more worried about our DL getting injuries from the chop blocks.

I don't see much hope for GT in this game. I look at what Clemson did to Tech this year. The fact remains that an athletic D line, combined with speedy linebackers, does not allow Tech to run it's offense.
Plus, UGA's offense is very good this year.
