I don't hate the guy, but I'd hardly consider him top talent, even if he is riding the pine in ATL right now
It really doesnt matter what you consider him- he gets paid to play professional football
How many future pros did La-Monroe have? Saban had 10-11 future pros playing for him in 2007- it's ridiculous for him to go 6-6

It is hilarious to see the gumps reduced to "next year" smack again.
you must not be aware that this year is over. that's ok. you still might have disappointment to face... not likely, but MIGHT! i can hope all i want, and i WILL.
i'm just glad to be bitching about a 9 win season. things are pretty fricking amazing to have a 9 win season, still have a fantastic recruiting class coming in and the knowledge that this is about as bad as it's gonna get for us while Saban is here.

no offense, but i'm too tired to argue something that's very clear to folks that understand why Saban is infact a better coach that Meyer. it doesn't matter to me one way or another if you see it or not.
I coached football for 13 years. You are going to have to give me some type of reason Saban is better besides "you see it"

you would be very wrong
But deflecting doesnt help your side of the discussion. What type of evidence can you give me that Saban is better than Meyer?

it wouldn't be deflecting if i already told you i was too tired to explain what seems obvious to a lot of people. sorry pal, i'm not getting lured into it. taunt me all you wish.

thats fine. You have no comeback just as I suspected.
Saban inherited 12 future NFL players from Shula and went 6-6.
Meyer inherited Zook's mess and went 9-3.
Thats about all that needs to be said.
Enjoy your evening

Relative success???
He coached there for 11 years.
I'm glad you failed to mention in 7/11 years, he managed to win 4 games or less.
Yah, a fricking awesome coach.

It's looking like Jay Jacobs, Bobby Lowder, Milton McGregor and Pat Dye.
Take your repetitive arse shite to Tuna's thread.
Come up with something original.

saying that Chizik didn't even hire the staff isn't unoriginal. i've see a ton of shite that's unoriginal all day on this board, that isn't. it seems like you have a little sand-crotch goin on right now.

A lot of minimal talent at ISU when Chizik was there, but Chizik made several key mistakes that he corrected when he went to Auburn. Chizik and his staff there never spoke about what to do in specific situations, such as a lead in the final minutes of the game and as such they blew leads when they shouldn't have. When he got at Auburn the staff went to the film room with clocks running to work out game day calls of when to go for it when to not, that's why many of the plays are already sent in. This greatly increased his success.

Chizik isn't the coach. Pat Dye is. Dye is at home drunk talking to Chiz on the headset.

im gonna ask you a question..who is coaching right now??? saban or meyer??? thats what i thought..why d you think these quote health problems started??? because he could see the writing on the wall..he knew that if he kept coaching he was gonna get beat up every year..and so he pussed out, and pulled the wool over everybody's eyes..he wants to put more time in with his family..thats a crock of shite..he sees them everyday, plus when football isnt going on, besides recruiting, he spends all the time in the world with them..Saban..plain and simple..made his arse quit..

Saban has 4 seasons worse than Meyer's worst season
Based on accomplishments- Meyer > Saban
Based on accomplishments- Meyer > Saban

Has anyone ever gone from being close to getting fired at a crappy school in a weak division to running the table in the toughest division in the toughest conference in America?
For the record he was not close to being fired, not at all. I have family up in Iowa and the general view on Chiz is butthurtness that he left. They knew he was a good coach and that it would take time to rebuild that program because he was essentially starting one from scratch. Most of them are still upset at Chizik for leaving because they feel like he didn't fufill a promise of sticking around.

He went to five bowl games in his last seven years, before the next douchebag (Chizik) took over and started losing to DII teams, while managing a whopping 2.5 wins per season.
McCarney may not be good, but he's a hell of a lot better than the loser that replaced him.
FYI, if you post less, you'll look less ignorant.
