2001 MWC refs stoled the game from State by allowing their 24-26 year old OL’s to bear hug our DL/LB the whole game. Finally late in the fourth quarter they called one holding penalty on them. It was a joke. Even the ESPN announcers commented on it and my wife who is not a football guru was booing most of the game and even pointing out the obvious holding calls that were not called.
All to keep them undefeated.
State led the whole game until the last play of the game when BYU kicked a FG to win it.
