I feel bad seeing these threads. This may be the last time your team makes the playoffs for awhile after Texas wakes up and you get tore up by the SEC. I don’t trust Venables as a program leader yet, and I’ve always liked Oklahoma.

Since Venables got to OU they have allowed one TD and 3 field goals in 2 games. That hasn’t been a thing at OU since about 2008 regardless of opponents. That before we even consider that Venables is recruiting at a top 3 level his first year. OU is about to get Peyton Bowen, Jordan Renaud, Yaites(from lsu), DJ Hicks, and Malachi Coleman. That’s a top 2 class.

3 cupcakes to start the season. I'm including Neb because that's what they are now. It will be fun when you join the SEC and on any given week you could lose to any team in the conference minus say Vandy. Enjoy the rest of your time in the big 12 because the days of going 12-1 etc.. will be gone.

I don’t think anybody expects to always win 12 games in the sec especially after this expansion happens, but if OU is recruiting at bama and UGA levels, and playing defense again why should we expect them to not be a playoff team regularly? You won’t need to go 12-1 anymore after 2024 anyway.

That’s like me thinking we were back after dropping 37 in the first quarter last night. Your schedule this year is embarrassing. You don’t play anyone except Baylor and Texas. Your Dline hasn’t played anyone that can punch them in the mouth and zero wide receivers who can blow past man coverage.

You are correct and that will be nice especially with SEC teams beating each other up all season. A two loss SEC team will be the norm making the playoff.

Lame excuse, OU will play at Lincoln very soon.
The Huskers are struggling for sure, but OU is not afraid to actually travel. Neutral early season games are an SEC thing and Nebraska is an historical elite program.
