He doesn't carry the same cred as Robinson but Stuart Mandel of SI said today on Mobile's 105.5 that he didn't think anything else will come out about Newton and Auburn. Pretty much said as far as he knew it was a dead issue.

I actually have said on here that I don't think AU gets in trouble over Newton. I don't believe AU is clean in that regard, but I believe they were smart in how they got dirty (if that makes sense).
I think the problem is that there is no such thing as a clean program and if the NCAA is investigating one thing, they are quite likely to find another...and now we are back to my prediction that Trooper's dirt in Miami (and elsewhere) is what ultimately trips AU up with NCAA (unless, of course, AU rolls him as rouge before hand).

Saved them from a failure to monitor or a lack of institutional control, didn't it? Looks like a good move by UNC. It will save some scholarships & length of probation & bowl ban.

Robinson already said his big story wasn't AU. Not saying there is no chance of NCAA problems, but I wonder who is digging in to.
