quote:So? Some of the best players in the NBA come directly from European leagues. Some of the best players in the world currently play in Europe. Why should those professionals receive deferential treatment from the NCAA? Why is it ok for a Turkish professional or a G Leaguer to earn more money by playing at a D1 school, but not someone who previously held an NBA contract?
Because he was under contract with a NBA team?

quote:This is laughably false.
The top Euro leagues pay less than the G league.
quote:It's only different because the NBA is where the money is. Talent follows the money. Which goes back to my original point, which is if the NCAA is going to let some professionals play college basketball, they should let any professional play college basketball. It's not going to change much anyway, because you're not going to get an influx of LaMelo Balls or Victor Wembanyamas, because the economics don't make sense.
If you want to say playing in Russia or Spain is equivalent to the NBA, you don’t know basketball.

You are parroting something that isn’t true, ignorant of basketball and drafts. The league has like 5 Euro players that are good, 3 elite, and the rest flame out. If you don’t watch pros, let alone follow the Olympics, don’t make generalized statements bc your school took a guy who signed an NBA contract.

quote:LOL, the NCAA's entire argument against Bediako vs. the Baylor kid is that a G League contract is not the same as a two-way contract. Now you're telling me they're the exact same?
Tell me you don't know wtf you are talking about without telling me you dont know what the frick you are talking about. Go!
Can I hire you to argue Bediako's case next week?

Because he was under contract with a NBA team? Whether he got minutes or not would not matter. He was contractually obligated to play and received compensation for it. So, he was a NBA player. If you allow that, you potentially allow any NBA player with eligibility to return to college.
Pandora’s box will be opened if he is eligible to play. He signed an NBA contract.

I dont know what the NCAA's deal is with Baylor kid. He should not be playing. NCAA used to draw the line at hiring an agent. Now they are on pace to draw a line at "was the kid ever an All Star"
