Thy think they are so much better. Well, us regulared folk are the true reprsentativetive of Bama. We were wronged. just cause Auburn is fancier and a better educational school dont mean we should be gettin screwed over like this. Roll Tide over that Eagle and Tiger and Bama Graduates. The real fans are those born to bama and not using daddys money to avoid working for 4 more years. Bama Slama!

Of all the most spirited arguments on the rant, this is without a doubt the most passionate (and unprovable) one. Every fanbase finds some bad examples of others and wants to believe they are all less than human.

We have a SHITLOAD of Alabama fans who I wouldn't invite to my house. And there are a shitload of others across all the fanbases that fit the same category. Alabama probably has a few more from the bandwagonners, and Vandy a few less for the same reason. But if you want to believe you are superior because you can find some examples of idiots who cheer for another team, you really have a self confidence problem.

If this is all just ripping on each other and in fun, then that's a different story. But it's clear that some of you take this very seriously.

It was a great game and an unbelievable finish.

I think any fanbase, even the most reserved, would feel the same way had they gone through what alabama did saturday. It was a crazy way for a game to end and title aspirations to be dashed. As you can see, it's been a tough pill to swallow, but I don't think that has as much to do with the fanbase as the situation. Substitute any other two rivals in that situation and you get the same aftermath

You're speaking intelligently and rationally.

Therefore, your post will either be ignored or mocked. Welcome to the shallow end of the SEC fandom.

I'm sure no other team in the SEC would have fans looking for an excuse had they lost that way

Hell LSU wasn't even involved and their fans are looking for excuses. But, it's just in their nature.

This is exactly what I was referring to.

LSU fans do it because it's somehow "in their nature", Bama fans would never behave in such a way...

...until they lose, then they look like everyone else.

Stupid fricking gumps can't even recognize what they're doing, they're so deluded.

I watched that play over and over after it was posted online. I think he may well have stepped out of bounds but as I said in a comment section in one of the articles I read on it, "...if he did step out of bounds that makes it all the sweeter since those so often go Bama's way." A bit of post-game schadenfreude, I know, but remember Tennessee fell victim to a penalty on that was on the other team that wound up allowing the penalized team (North Carolina) to have time added to the clock even though time had expired and the head ref had declared game over. UNC had been the ones penalized yet this allowed them time to kick a field goal and eventually win the game.

The NCAA actually ended up reviewing what happened and establishing the "Tennessee Rule" because it was such an unfair outcome.

quote:

Following the game, the NCAA adopted new rules calling for a 10-second runoff to be assessed in addition to any penalty that causes a clock stoppage unless the penalized team opts to take a time out. Had these rules been in effect for this game, since North Carolina had no time outs left it would have ended as a 20-17 Tennessee victory.

At any rate, it looked to me like he probably stepped out but it's hard to tell from video uploads. Regardless of whether he did or didn't step out, my since of fairness makes think the play should've been reviewed even if it did involve Bama.

Who cares as others have mentioned OT was not where we needed to go and Saban seems to agree by taking a shot at a FG. Maybe it would bother me if we actually were trying to defend the play but since we basically watched him run down the field it is what it is.

From what I saw on the replay that night from behind he was in bounds and his heel never touched.

Me as a LSU fan can definitively relate, a-la last year on bamas last drive and our vaunted 2 minute defense.
