Alabama and Texas are mirrors of one another. Both teams have a terrible loss, and a blowout loss to UGA to boot. Both have three losses.

As far as justifying things Alabama has made the playoffs several times without winning the conference and the ACC champ plays in a better conference than the other non-power 5 conference
