I feel sorry for you if you really believe that. CFN does not do a bad job at all.

They both do a HORRIBLE job.

The fact that Bleacher Report is manned by a bunch of moron bloggers while CFN is *supposedly* manned by professional journalists and they both suck to high heaven makes a mockery of CFN more than anything.

What I find ridiculous is the statement Cam made about him being God's instrument. Cam needs to keep that thought in his head, IMO.

Thank God for being a part of the Auburn family,” was just one of the religious references Chizik, Cam “God is using me as an instrument” Newton, and others threw out there as a big part of the reason for the team’s success. Let’s say they’re right and God actually wanted the Auburn Tigers to win the national title.

NO WHERE did Chizik say that God wanted Auburn to win. But I am a strong believer in giving credit to God for all our accomplishments... Gene and his wife are very authentic with their faith. Attacks of this type should not stop Gene and Cam from continuing to profess their faith. As a Christian, I appreciate it.

Taking into account who coaches your team do you really want to get into an argument about stupid stuff said after football games?

Why not? I'm pretty bored. Chizik has repeatedly said that they have God behind them as if he's a new mascot or something. It's one thing to drop to a knee in an end zone but to go on and on grandstanding about how God has your back and shite is just plain silly.

A better analogy for CFN than TBR would be Sportales...That said....

Don't get your hopes up. We've been down this road before just a few days ago. Here's how it will play out:

We'll talk shite about Slingblade's use of God.
Boogs will take up for him.(as they should)
Someone will give a semi-intelligent response.
Boogs will reply with some shite about "family" or "all in".
Repeat

Can anybody in here prove that God didn't want Auburn to win the National Championship? God predestined that Auburn would win th 2010 championship before he made the world, yo.

Now, I believe this is true. From what most folks know, Gene is a good man.

I gotta hard time believing this though.

IMO, Cam and his father would better serve AU and themselves if they just left their "God speak" out of public conversations right now. They only set themselves and AU up for ridicule by the public/media.

Don't get me wrong, I am a barner and all...but I'm seriously sick of the "family" and "all in" crap coming from the Auburn camp. Maybe I'm weird...

You aren't weird, you're just normal. I've got ton's of AU friends that feel the exact same way you do. They are diehard AU fans - they just don't get into the "Family/All In" push that many Aubs get into.

"All In" I'll grant you is hopefully a one year catch phrase. The Family though is something that Auburn people believe in and have for a long, long time. Way before Gene Chizik was here. Before Gene Chizik was even born actually. There really isn't anything to argue about as far as the thanking God thing, it's just a clearly weak attempt at a flame by a bitter sportswrite and some bitter fans. Athletes, coaches, actors, lottery winners, cancer survivors etc... have been thanking God for as long as there has been media to thank him in. Somehow when Auburn does it though it gets criticized, which pretty much shows how desperate people are to try and knock Auburn about anything right now.

Most of the Bleacher Report "articles" are full of grammatical errors and terribly misspelled words. You probably wouldn't recognize that though...

Oh I know, it's just been said quite a lot this year, more than usual imo. And lumped into the "All In" quote.

as far as the thanking God thing

I actually don't really care about this. I wouldn't care if they thanked Buddha, The Dalai Lama or Ganesha

CollegeFootballNews sucks now and always has.

People are missing the boat on the Auburn and God connection. They are thanking God for the chance to be in that position.

I think it's very commendable that they go out of their way to include God in their pre and post game conversations.

I hope he writes an article like this everytime a sports figure thanks God(which is pretty much every sporting event in the past 50 years) for helping them win a game or whatever.

And as for the "God thing" comment after I think the Clempson game....Chizik cleared that up basically saying it's about all the guys on the team having faith in each other. Obviously it's a religious/Christian reference, but I don't think they're saying God was rooting for us to win, for lack of better words. They're basically saying 'we have a strong faith in God, which leads to us having a strong faith in each other.'
