Hell Curry or Perkins went on espn and said it was a bad job to take no matter the money.

It was Curry and he is butthurt and hates Bama....one issue is the NCAA investigation...if you're a candidate, do you really want to take the job knowing you could very well be facing scolly reductions and recruiting restrictions and then having to compete with Saban and Bama in-state? In addition to competing with UGA and UF for recruits?....oh and having to play in the toughest division in the toughest conference in the country?.....especially if there are other opportunities availbale? Good luck with that....

Bama looked like stomped shite when Saban took over.

We looked better then than AU does now....Bama in 2007 was a better opportunity than AU is now by a long shot.....the only stomped shite I see was that mess left on the field at BDS last Saturday,

You were on probation at the time about to get hit with sanctions and vacated wins.

STFU. AU is not getting hit with anything from the NCAA besides secondary shite. And what you just described is a giant pussy. You obviously don't know what the hell you are talking about.

You obviously haven't read any of the articles unveiling some of the things going on behind the scenes with Chizik's team. He needed to go ASAP. He literally lost control of the team completely, all of it due to his ego and lack of discipline

If you actually believe all of that BS, you're really naive. Some of those stories sound like they were crafted by an 8 year-old. Chizik told his players they didn't have to work out? Riiiiiiiiiight. Someone on staff told him one of his players wasn't going to class and his reaction was "I don't believe you"? Riiiiiiiight

Probation was burning off and we got our full compliment of recruits....Saban pulled that 2008 class that was the foundation of where we are today....Saban and Bama own the state....the best youre gonna get is a Dooley/Shula type, some coordinator, or an NFL retread......if they replace "All-In" with "Hold The Rope" watch out

No it doesn't. Thats just bull shite talk. No one knows how the interviews will go or who they talk to.

I love how Auburn fans are getting all offended over these kinds of articles when the same people were talking about what a sh#### job the Alabama job was when Shula was fired. All we heard from Auburn fans was how at least 7 coaches had turned down firm head coaching offers to take the Alabama job and an NFL coach would never dream of stooping so low as to take the Alabama job. I guess the Auburn job isn't infinitely better than the Alabama job after all.

We aren't offended at all. You really think negative articles that come out are going to piss us off after 2010? This is just the nature of the business and its just an opinion, no facts.

Truth. And to the dumbass gumps...

Pretty much the same things were being said about the bama job before saban took it: terrible job, dysfunctional job, no one in their right mind would take it, etc. Hell Curry or Perkins went on espn and said it was a bad job to take no matter the money. Then Rich Rod said no thanks, don't want, along with several other coaches.

This is such effin BS. Rich Rod accepted and then backed out. He and he alone was the only coach that turned down a coaching offer from Alabama during the last search.

I really hope these tards hire Petrino....it will solidify their laughing stock staus and provide comedy gold for years to come....also will ensure the NCAA maitains a permanent field office in Lee County so keeping it down home cuz won't be business as usual.

Not so much. The media took literally every name that was even mentioned for the job and claimed they "turned down an offer" when they didn't end up getting the job. The fact is that after Rich Rod fell through Mal laid low and waited to go all in on Saban. I distinctly remember Chris Mortenson saying on one of his "Mort Reports" that if the Alabama job was still open at month's end then watch out for Saban to Alabama. He was as usual right on the money.

Correct, but as you stated, "Rich Rod accepted and then backed out" is not true. He never accepted anything.

I don't buy the whole argument that no one would take a job to compete with Saban head to head.Any coach worth his or her salt would welcome the competition.

There is a reason that AU had to hire a dud like Chiz. It's a hard job to win consistently at. With coaches.only getting two yrs mostly now before the hot seat warms, its career suicide. Honestly most agents will advise clients to avoid the SEC in general. Too many programs that have the means to win and unreasonable expectations.

They only pass out one trophy and there are atleast 8 programs in the SEC that could win it legitimately. Someone has to get fired.

Pretty much you can only go about 3 yrs without winning the division before getting fired at most of the Big 6.

The other poster said that not me.....and yes we dodged a major bullet when RichRod took the Michigan job...which frankly looked like the better opportunity....

All the flaming and b.s. aside, AU is a big time job and ya'll have deep pockets....I think there is some truth to the article insofar that coming into the job today and competing in-state with Saban is a daunting proposition....there is an NCAA investigation...and yeah, it may turn out to be nothing but it certainly doesn't help AU with the uncertainty hanging over the situation....
