I seem to remember there being an outbreak of the misuse of this tactic a few years back. I mean it got really bad (Career-enders for some?).
What ever happened to this technique? You don't ever see or hear of it anymore. Was it outlawed?

LSU fans know all about that.
Their TPOS linemen were chop blocking us the whole game in 2011.

when chaz ramsey left the art of the chop block died.
I wont be surprised if the gus bus tries to revive it during grindfest this year. Im sure it wont be fun getting grinded by 35 in the 3rd

LSU fans have had to tone down the whining because their team has committed the most chop blocks of any SEC team over the past 5 years.

Oh so it hasn't been outlawed? Or do they just blatantly disregard the rules?

it will have to be readdressed now that Mahlzahn is back in the SEC.

Can we talk about the mail, please, Mullen3:16? I've been dying to talk about the mail with you all day, OK? "Pepe Silvia," this name keeps coming up over and over again. Every day Pepe's mail is getting sent back to me. Pepe Silvia! Pepe Silvia! I look in the mail, and this whole box is Pepe Silvia! So I say to myself, "I gotta find this guy! I gotta go up to his office and put his mail in the guy's goddamn hands! Otherwise, he's never going to get it and he's going to keep coming back down here." So I go up to Pepe's office and what do I find out, Mac? What do I find out?! There is no Pepe Silvia. The man does not exist, okay? So I decide, "Oh shite, buddy, I gotta dig a little deeper." There's no Pepe Silvia? You gotta be kidding me! I got boxes full of Pepe! All right. So I start marchin' my way down to Carol in HR and I knock on her door and I say, "Carol! Carol! I gotta talk to you about Pepe." And when I open the oor what do I find? There's not a single goddamn desk in that office! There...is...no...Carol in HR. Mac, half the employees in this building have been made up. This office is a goddamn ghost town.

Is there a site that keeps track of individual penalties for teams? I've looked a bunch of different times and have always struck out.

There should be a tutorial for all on the difference between cut and chop blocks

I've seen it used interchangeably but when you say 'cut block' do you mean the type used in, say, the wishbone where the OL doesn't try to hold his block but basically dives in front of the DL to take him to ground quickly?

pretty much, which is perfectly legal as long as on line of scrimage

Which is wrong and people complain all the time when they see a cut block and call it a chop block. Chop block is being engaged by two players, one high, one low. not one player going low

It seems like all the clips showing a chop block are either against LSU or uploaded by an LSU fan.
Yup they mad, despite the fact they have committed numerous chop blocks over the past few years. but theirs are acceptable
