The amendment voted on at the league’s annual meetings in Destin, Florida, will allow “the use of institutionally controlled, computerized sound systems (including music), institutionally controlled artificial noisemakers, and traditional institutional noisemakers at any time, except from the time the offensive center is over the football until the play is whistled dead.”

It seems that when the SEC made its rules against artificial noise, Mississippi State was considered grandfathered in.
The Vanderbilt whistler must know someone in the offices.

They're illegal unless you really want to use them.

Someone doesn’t know what “artificial” means.

It’s the only thing they have so the SEC let them keep it.

I don’t really notice the cow bells, but that whistling bitch is like a Chinese water torture. I have to mute it every time.

If yall actually followed that rule, I wouldn't have a problem with it.
I’m an LSU fan, but at least I know not to whine about shite that is within the rules.

Noise is noise, but what Clemson does is flash a constant strobe that circles the entire stadium halfway up when the opposing team has the ball. They mysteriously turn them off when Clemson has the ball.

You can’t have them unless your program is bad and is unable to compete for a championship. In that case, you can have noisemakers, gay male cheerleaders, and other novelties.

It’s kind of like how the kids on the short bus have a different set of rules because people feel a bit bad for them and understand they need all the help they can get.

Speaking of noise making devices, In 2013 Clemson was facing Fla St at home. Clemson proclaimed the were gonna set a record for loudest recorded stadium crowd. The dolts all brought in noise makers of some kind that night in order to artificially break this record. Here's the funny, Florida State with Winston at QB came in an immediately silenced the dolts in the stands by jumping out to a 27-7 lead by half time and an eventual a 51-14 thrashing. They didn't break the record.

Strangely enough, I rarely hear Ole Miss fans mention those cowbells…
