the worst sec stadium is war memorial in little rock if you want to count that as a stadium.
I don't count that. I'd say Vandy then State then OleMiss/Kentucky.

all depends on expectations as to whether he wins. certainy Houston Nutt won at Arkansas, although there are quite a few alums and others who say he did not. if MSU decides it is happy with 6-7 wins and an occasional 8 win season, he can win. Jackie Sherrill did it and they were happy for 3-4 years before he and his cheating ways were run out of town.

This should be considered success at any school not in the big 3.

Sherill did it by filling his roster with JUCOs. Same with K-State. I believe that's the only way schools like that can win, but it's always temporary. It's a house of cards that always collapses. But there's no way he will be able to attract top high school talent to Starkville. It's not possible.

It's Mississippi State...so no he won't win there. Have you ever been to Starkhell???

its not impossible to have winning seasons at state. I don't think they will ever be at LSU level or something like that where you expect titles. They could maybe compete for the west every 4 years.

Why don't you ask the media. Apparently they think it is fit to write about it. Sure it's stuck up, but it is what a small town should be.
I think State could win 6 games a year, You'd be wrong if you think that it is easier to win at State than any other SEC west school.

Here are some links. I guess the world is wrong, and you are the only one who is right.

What is starkville's answer to this?
Oxford is not the nicest place in the world, but you are lying to yourself if you think Starkville is somehow better.

Does Starkville have a better music venue?
Does Starkville have buildings that look like this?
Sorry for being such an arse to make a point.

I'm not happy about my lack of confidence in MSU's ability to be competitive in the SEC. It would be better for everybody in the SEC if MSU fielded a more competitive team but the circumstances there are almost impossible. To be polite, Starkville is a friendly small town - but it's so insignificant and out of the way and "country to the bone" the location itself is the main obstacle to MSUs success. I've been there twice for Bama-MSU games (both Bama wins)and those two weekends were the most miserable college football trips I've ever made.

I just see why people think Oxford is so great. Its just another college town.
In Mississippi, Oxford is the best there is. Except maybe Tupelo or Madison. Truth is, Mississippi sucks. Tupelo, Madison, Oxford, Desoto County, and the coast are the only places that I could stand to live in. I live in carriage hills, btw. But I went to Christian Brothers for high school.

I saw some comments about Livingston Parish and Denham Springs and it makes me laugh. I was born and raised in Denham Springs and I have lived here all my life and to be completley honset, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I'm proud to say that I come from Denham Springs . . .
And I've been to Starksville and to be perfecly honest, I love it. I agree, there is absolutley nothing there, but I guess it's just the country boy in me that likes it so much. AND, I also will say I love their stadium. It is one of my favorites in the SEC. Sure, theres nothing glamorous about it, but I love how quaint it is.
