Ok. I won't debate NCAA rules from the Bryant era compared to now. NCAA was in it's infancy, so things were vastly different. As far as Joe Willie, he was a gifted player with a huge ego. His arse stayed in hot water often with Coach Bryant.

Yes, they are. Never said otherwise. But AU fans try to make the textbook thing into Watergate, and it's not.

How does athletes from several sports using their scholly book allowance to buy books for friends = cheating? I grant you it was wrong, but I fail to see the on field advantage.

It doesn't. I never said otherwise. A scholly athlete buying textbooks for a friend is not in the ballpark with a P4P solicitation, but you already knew that.

That is your opinion. I respect that. I didn't say he is a douche. Perhaps I wasn't clear, but I was referring to some of his off-field behavior which is what the OP was about.
