Everyone knows Burrow had a better season. Even most Auburn fans will probably admit it.

Other than Cam, please name the NFL draft picks on the 2010 auburn offense. Project the same for 2019 lsu offense.

Now do NFL draft picks for Oregon’s defense and then for Clemson’s.

Without Cam, Auburn MIGHT have won 7 games in 2010. Without Burrow LSU probably still makes a NY6 bowl.

Denying this truth would be a very bad look.

Season stats,

Cam: 4,327 total yards
Joe: 6,040 total yards

Cam: 51 total TDs
Joe: 65 total TDs

Cam: 3 Top 10 wins (avg. margin of victory: 2.8 pts)
Joe: 7 Top 10 wins (avg. margin of victory: 15.4 pts)

It ain’t close.

Dak is best QB in CFB history. Played well with no NFL talent around him. Do we really wanna start this? By any objective measure Burrow had the best season for a QB in CFB history. Anyone claiming otherwise simply wants to bring a contrarian point to the table or troll LSU fans on this site.

Ok? Doing more heavy lifting doesn’t make you better.

Joe had more to work with for sure but he blew cams numbers out of the water and it’s not even close

If my offense needed a pocket passer QB, I’d take Joe. If my offense needed a dual threat QB, I’d take Cam. It’s as simple as that for me. I don’t think either QB would have won an NC in the other’s offense

For sure. Burrow had the best college season for a QB ever. I still think Cam was the right guy for Auburn to win it all that year, and I'm not sure we get it done with anyone else.

Defense and the run game (specifically MVP Michael Dyer) won that game for Auburn. It definitely wasn't the offensive showdown we expected.

People who try to compare Burrow and Cam using stats don’t know shite about football. Gus did use Cam like Brady used Cam. Cam also didn’t have the same weapons at WR. I laugh when people try to justify their opinion showing one game.

Before LSU played Clemson, they were #1 in scoring defense(11.7) and #2 in total defense(264).

Both are fair critiques.

Cam had less around him to help, but did not face as much defensive talent as Burrow.

Overall, I'd have to say Burrow had the better season - if for no other reason than having to win two games at the end of the season against top 5 teams instead of one. Any team that wins a title in the playoff era, at minimum, gets a bump when debating "best seasons".

The SEC has had some amazing QBs over the past dozen or so years. Burrow, Newton, Tebow, Tua, Hurts, Manziel - and many, many others. Just being named among the greats is accomplishment enough, but to have a season that can be debated greatest among these names?
