WTF does that have to do with the assertion that the NCAA investigated LF?

Maybe you should follow the conversations within the thread a little closer.

It's hard for all these triggered AU fans to keep up.

You said that the NCAA was given Cam Newton on a silver platter. What in the world are you referring to if you don't think Cam got paid a significant sum?

Given that all the allegations/ "evidence" suggested a significant sum, if you say that isn't true, there wasn't any other "silver platter" type "evidence"

Some still think they're innocent.

It's not really that, it's that LSU316 was loose with language, got worked the frick over, and is now babbling about semantics and playing it off as a troll.

I'm saying he probably got in the 10K range....not 200K.

You people are caught up on the amount....it really has no bearing...hell $10 would have been a violation.

That big number was brought out to do exactly what you are saying....to make the issue seem stupid so that it would go away.

Was a convenient way to throw out the Cam was cleared after the NCAA went through IRS Records/Interviews/All available information during a nearly year long investigation

Considering the NCAA embarrassment, if they found something even remotely close to damning they would have used it. Either Auburn covers their tracks like Boris in 007 Goldeneye or they didn't pay Cam Newton at all.

One thing is for certain, it was anything but a "silver platter" case for the NCAA

You're on page 2 or 3 of trying to defend your dumb silver platter argument.

This may be the case....but I err on the side of NCAA ineptness.

I hate talking in absolutes in issues like this when 99% of the people don't have all the information. While I think something "fishy" did go on, I not for punishing schools because something appears "fishy".

Bub you have a guy whose dad was on tape saying it is going to take money to get Cam. It that's not it I don't know what is.

The fact that they couldn't find the proof doesn't mean it wasn't an easy case to close....it just means the NCAA was dumb.

They didn't investigate him getting improper benefits from the school. But keep deflecting. It will eventually make you feel better.

I agree.

I'm not saying that AU should have received punishment here...in fact I applauded their cover up efforts.....I'm just saying that "fishy" stuff happened period.

I agree, it's definitely a silver platter situation for MSU.

You seem otherwise reasonable so I'll assume you're being intentionally obtuse to avoid having to backtrack.

Ya but I don't believe anything was served on a silver platter for the NCAA.

No, you have his dad on tape saying it is going to take money to get Cam to go to MISS ST.
