While Newton is more important to his team than Vince (and Vince was obviously very important to UT), Vince was a far superior passer and not much of an inferior runner (he was a different type of runner).

His footwork was great. He had those instincts - something that Pryor and other QBs compared to Vince lack.

USC's defense in 2005 was not very good, people seem to forget that. that said Vince took UT on his back and won that game.
Right now I'd take Cam over Vince, Cam on 3rd downs is better than Vince and equal to or better in most other categories.
Vince has the hardware but Newton is just as good and in some cases better than Vince with far less talent around him.
