I think the NCAA wants to make an example, the difference with this is the paper trail, and Alabama was also on probation, and now looks like Boosters were funneling the money...This looks different than recent scandals..

How does it look like boosters funneling money? I must have missed that one.

you don't lose scholarships and you don't get post season bans (exception penn state) for non recruiting issues or non booster unless you have coaches involved. If anything, Bama likely looking at win vacation (but not titles, as those are BCS awarded and NCAA has no control over), and probation.

They (the BCS) took USCw's 2004 BCS championship because of Reggie Bush and the fact that the school "should have known."

Nick Saban will be suspended for the first half of next week's game.

If the NCAA vacates Bama's 2012 wins I would bet money the BCS would vacate Bama's title as well. Just saying.

1) story breaks
2) rivals laugh
3) fans freak out, get defensive, accept pending "fate", then realize not gonna be as bad as they think
4) NCAA drags feet
5) rivals realize not going to be as bad as they'd hoped
6) minor penalties come or story fades

This....

Only if Fluker lies or doesn't cooperate with the NCAA can I see them doing anything. The NCAA is a damn joke now.

hmmmmmmm. Not sure the SEC would have any decent education if we left.

Really? Let's take a look at the recently released USNews & World Report college rankings:

#17 - Vandy
#49 - Florida
#60 - Georgia
#69 - Texas A&M
#86 - Alabama
#91 - Auburn
#97 - Missouri
#101 - Tennessee
#112 - USC
#119 - Kentucky
#128 - Arkansas
#135 - LSU
#142 - Miss St
#150 - Ole Miss

Thanks Mizzou for really raising the academic bar.

I think you should check the rankings because last time I looked Mizzou was behind 4-5 schools in the SEC in education.....

To be fair, they're in the middle. So they're not really dropping the bar on their skull, but they're not pushing it to the top either.

For anything to happen, the NCAA will have to prove that Alabama was aware of Fluker taking improper benefits to show a “lack of institutional control.” Nowhere in the Yahoo report was it alleged that the University was aware of Fluker taking money, and the agencies that provided the benefits are in no way connected to the university.

What? Didn't a report come out showing Mizzou not ranked so high as y'all were spewing at us?

Nothing happening to Bama because of a rouge agent.

Notice I said 2012 wins, not 2011. Nice try though.
