How so?

It must be their glut of SEC championship appearances and national titles... Oh wait...

The SEC is fortunate to have Texas A&M.

A&M provided value and immediate improvement for the conference both short & long term.

-Presence in the Texas market
-AAU academic institution
-Well rounded excellence in mens and womens sports

What else could you want, especially the TX connection generating revenue and a fertile recruiting base.

In the world of acquisitions this was a grand slam from every angle including personality. A&M and the SEC are a great match & should be together for eternity.

Are those “real” or claimed championships? Either way still more impressive than anything the Aggots have done in the past 50 years.

Threads like this always remind me how backward, ignorant, and uneducated many of you are. And many that post this shite are Auburn fans of all things.

Of all things? You didn't believe that auNecks were some great and revered intellectuals of the SouthLand did you? If you did, you got tricked.

quote:

We have a long history and association with LSU and Arkansas, so our alumni and fan bases are well acquainted with each other. No surprises there. Prior to joining the SEC, my perception of Auburn was that it was the school in the SEC most like us, with MSU being along those lines as well and my knowledge of LSU as a university. My instinct was correct about MSU. I’ve been around LSU and their alums my entire life. However, my thinking that Auburn was the “smart” school in Alabama is very wrong.

Yes, you were very wrong. What you see here is what it is. The attitude and demeanor of auNecks on this board is the same one they have in real life. To understand an auNeck, you have to become one. Once you become an auNeck, you can't properly view the outside world any longer.

They are a very insular fan-base that honestly believes they have never had a single fan of any of their sport's teams who weren't graduates of their college. They also truly imagine themselves to be on an academic level with Harvard and Yale, among others.[/quote]

quote:

I thought that because they were a Land Grant university that they would be more like A&M in being conservative, academic achievers with close ties to the military, and just hard working rural folks. I was wrong. Auburn fans are plainly stupid, downright illiterate, at least the ones that post on this board are.

Yes, and all the rest are also. There are no differences between the posters on this board and your regular auNeck on the streets of Opelika.

quote:

Auburn fans that post here seem to take the SEC Rant literally, and do no research on their own. After almost eight years they still no nothing about us, our history, our roots, and our culture. They simply spout off that A&M hasn’t won a NC since 1939, and that’s that. What a sad, uneducated lot you Auburn fans are. Maybe if you just all learned how to read and finish high school, and maybe actually enroll at Auburn...

Again, every single one of them that post here has a degree from the University of auNeck, you can count on that. Bet on it. Bet the house. There simply are no fans of this team who did not graduate from the college or who are not currently pursuing a degree at the college.

So, you know, what you see here is what you get. Your best bet with their kind is to simply not try to relate to them. They are a mean and ugly bunch with bitterness bundled up inside their DNA.

Do you really need to ask? Missouri at least knows its place. These Aggies are weird morons when it comes to collegiate competition. I’d take Clemson over them in a minute.

Why did you stick it in your arse to begin with, auNeck? Run back to the mods, little bitch, and whine, whine, whine.

You weren't homo'ing to the mods when you lit the fuse, were you?

I dont have the time nor inclination to copy a bunch of redneck photos of bama fans but surely you are aware of websites like this

You have to get the level of irony here, bama is THE premiere redneck school. Please get a different angle, it hurts watching you be this autistic.

Why do auNecks have such a strong pull towards homosexuality? I know of no other fanbase or student body that is consumed with homosexuality like the auNecks are.

Even you, I post an image of a few auNeck students just having a good time while shooting some bottle rockets off and you start crying about asses and how you are telling on me because you are gay and it offended you. WTF?

Silly auNecks striking a country pose:

There’s no upside to them being in the conference.

They are the equivalent of NC State on a national level. Nobody outside of southeast Texas remembers that they exist.

The upside is obvious: adding A&M opened up recruiting in the state of Texas.

That said, the Big 12 is still grateful that you took those embarrassing dorks off our hands.

Explain how aTm in the conference opens up Texas recruiting to the rest of the conference? Easy:

1. Most importantly, as time passes, a Texas high school kid no longer sees himself as culturally living in just Big 12 territory. Other SEC schools get talked about on local sports stations and at school, parties, etc because aTm plays SEC schools. The SEC Network comes as a standard channel in Texas households. A Houston kid might consider LSU or Alabama in the same way that he might have otherwise viewed Oklahoma. How well do you think the SEC could recruit Florida if UF, FSU, and Miami were all ACC schools?

2. SEC West schools get to promise Mom and Dad that they will play in Texas at least twice while their kid is in college.

There are about 4 or 5 Texas kids who could identify with all things aggy. They weren’t a fit for big 12 or sec.

If seriously, who were we going to get? We needed to add two and do it quick.

We took miz and aggy. Only time will tell of that was a good move. When is atm going to catch up wjth mizz on division championships?
