Jason Taylor has always been effusive when asked about Nick Saban. I don’t think the players hated him as much as fans. He missed badly on what QB to throw his pro career chips in on and got the hell out of town when he reflected upon that mistake after the season.
I think that’s the truth of it. NFL is a quarterback league and he made a fatal mistake on that front. His defenses were good. They just had no consistency on offense.
He wanted to be the czar of the football operations on and off the field so Nick has to own that one.

You claimed "Saban’s team regressed" based on record, after spending an entire paragragh defending the reasons Flores didn't do well.
The Dolphins actually started out that year 1-6. Eventually Saban benched Culpepper and after a few more losses they went on a 5-1 streak including shutting out the Patriots...21-0.
But they ended up coming up short. They had a good defense, but the offense lacked at times.
Which is why Miami fans were so upset when he left. They knew he was moving the program forward. How are they feeling about Flores getting fired?
