I'd just like to add that Saban doesn't bitch about schedules anymore because after he got pounded in 2002 by Va Tech, he doesn't schedule any true road games out of conference in openers and now he has an easier CDR draw. The guy knows how to play for a championship.

He scheduled preseason top ten Clemson in '08, top ten VT in '09, top ten UM in '12

Uh, I didn't mention any flavor of tard, now did I?

There have been some combo of lsutards, bamatards, gatortards, dawgtards, aggietards, aubbietards, arkytards, voltards, and cocktards all tarding out over different facets of the proposed scheduling all summer.

Haven't seen a lot of mizzoutards, kentuckytards, vandytards, or either stripe of mississippitards in the fray, though.

I think its very likely the "bridge" part is true, but yes, the 9 game schedule isn't anything close to official. I think they will make it a bridge simply to drag their feet another year on deciding to have 9 games.

not sure if it was this thread but i'll repeat it again. man yall have short memories, like 1 year short. But if you are going to put the disclaimer of true road game, geez you are butthurt

I know, right?

I guess the Kick Off Classics against VT, Clemson, and Michigan don't count somehow.

That home and away with Penn State was just a mirage, too. Jesus.

You have been doing yeoman's work in these schedule threads. A true unbiased eye especially because you are an Auburn fan and could take the easy way out to go with the grain and hate on Alabama just because. Keep up the good fight, my friend!

There's still a lot of people who apparently don't understand that there was an actual methodology used to develop the bridge schedules. It was just a continuation of the previous opponent rotations with the exception being teams that played A&M or Mizzou as their rotating cross-division game:
Bridge Schedules explained

If the same methodology is used for 2014, then teams will play the rotating cross-division opponents that they last played in 2010 which would be USC for Bama

I don't think there is much of a chance that we don't play either Florida or Georgia this year

But there is zero chance that you play them both in the regular season.

Hey look, LSU plays them both in the regular season.

It is BS and either Uga or Bama should have not played for the SEC championship last year.

Florida got a worse deal than anybody last year. Beat LSU and A&M while Georgia played Ole Miss and Auburn.

Yes, randomness. I love your "explanation" BTW.

Therefore, each team added the cross-division opponent that it last played in the '08 season with 4 exceptions:

So, exactly the same, except different. Got it.

How were the teams picked to play A&M and Mizzou each year? That I don't know

So you think it was a coincidence that 8 of 12 returning SEC members played the cross-division opponents they were due to play per the previous rotation in both the '12 and '13 seasons with the only exceptions being teams selected to play A&M or Mizzou and the teams those teams were scheduled to play?

That would have to be the biggest coincidence of all time

You do realize that the conference added 2 teams, correct?

Not a coincidence at all. I think Bama avoided UGA and offered to play Mizzou instead.

You think? In the past you've always stated it like it was fact. What happened?

It is a fact that there was absolutely zero reason for Alabama to have four SEC West home games. Think/know. For me it is still the truth.
