The fact that you are even remotely seriously considering such an asinine statement is a joke unto itself

Good day, sir

When was the last time an NFL defense gave up over 600 yards to basically 2 players?

Urlacher probably only casually pays attention to college ball, and I'm sure his comment is a generalization of the last few years, not this specific unit.

I value his opinion above most peoples and I have stated multiple times in this thread that UF defense is definitely better than bama's right now...

I think bama has a lot of talent on the defensive side of the ball though

There is no team that is remotely close to the NFL's worst defense

And it's been said already, but no NFL team would give up HALF of 42 points to Texas A&M. Johnny would be on a stretcher by the 2nd quarter and they'd put in their reserves after halftime

well considering he is an 8 time pro bowler on D and you are some random poster on a sports board, his opinion has a little more weight than yours does.

Well first I didn't say MY opinion was better, just that I wouldn't put much stock in his.

Great player doesn't mean anything other than great player. John Elway was a great player, who as a exec uses his scouting team to assist in evaluations of players.

Heck, Jerry Rice was an absolutely AMAZING player

Unfortunately, he was also a moron.

Bama has a NFL D with all the guys getting drafted on that side of the ball.

What a ridiculous fricking statement.

Maybe in years past, but not 2013. It is obvious Brian is basing it on past when he speaks of the draft. No one on the 2013 team has been drafted yet iirc.

I think Florida's defense is better.

They are giving up an average of 25 points a game against other college kids. But yeah, definately an NFL defense.

Contrary to most people here on the rant, I will take urlacher's opinion on the Alabama D over anybodys. Probably the best D in the SEC when all is said and done.

So you believe this shite too then. Why am I not surprised.

You faced Johnny Manziel in his first college start. If you'd held their offense to 17 at the end of the year, then that would be noteworthy.
What's truly remarkable is the fact that Florida forced 3 interceptions and held Georgia to 17 points despite their offense turning over the ball 6 times!

well how is it that johnny manziel looked like the johnny manziel at the end of the year in the 1st half against UF last year.....but in the 2nd half we shut him down.....basically if he wasn't ready to play shouldn't that have been reversed (bad 1st half...good 2nd half)

Where is Dre Kilpatrick now? I watched the Bengals last MNF and I didn't see him at cornerback. Dude was a 1st round draft pick wasn't he?

And how many start? These comparisons are so fricking stupid.

John Chavis has been the old person I've seen solved the Johnny Football problem. Chavis doesn't get enough credit for his defensive mind.

It follows therefore, that TAM could score 42 points against an NFL team.
