Also your whole argument showcases that LSU is a dogshit program

There is no comparison between our championship winning program and your program, which hasn't won jack shite in over a quarter century.

You are correct. No comparison.

Yall act like Brian hadn’t taken Notre Dame to the championship game before! So it’s nothing new. Yall acting like Freeman has done something that hasn’t been done before. Now if he win it, that’s a different story.

I think this ND team has already accomplished more than that really. That ND team made it that far on an easy schedule, basically playing nobody.

This ND team has already beaten the SEC champion in order to make the 4 teams remaining. That ND team in 2012 would have also lost badly to the SEC runner up Georgia. The real NCG that year was pretty much the SECCG.

For once, ND actually earned something even if a bit diminished due to Georgia's QB situation. That's football though, and ND was still standing toe to toe on the line etc to get that win, rather than getting manhandled like in the past.

I'm sure LSU fans will wait until BK is fired to admit this, but whatever.

Because for all of their bluster and self-aggrandizement, deep down Irish fans feared that maybe it really was true and it was just impossible to win at the highest levels at Notre Dame in today's world. So they stuck by Kelly believing him to be the best that they could get, even though he drove them crazy and they didn't much like him. Of course now it turns out that the problem wasn't Notre Dame, it was Kelly himself.

Notre Dame didn't get manhandled the two times they faced Georgia with BK.

Good point. Those two games were one score losses by ND. I think the narrative revolves around the real old days from over ten to 15 years ago when ND got destroyed by Bama and a few years later, Clemson handled them.

i would think most teams would react this way to an assistant coach taking over after their head coach left suddenly.

The players were behind LSU promoting Archer to replace Arnspager. Archer had acted as the buffer between players and Arnspager. It didn’t work out for us, but it also depends on the exact situation and the coach taking over.

Sometimes players just want a change to feel that the team is moving forward

I think the terrorist attack, Smart’s father, first start for the QB, and the long layoff all played a part.

The attack and delay affected both teams on original game day, but Smart was likely distracted while getting team refocused on game postponed a day. Saban would have had a plan, and maybe Smart did before his father’s fall and hospitalization.

First start for a QB also might have been more affected by the postponement. It was also first game a college defense game planned for him. The blocking wasn’t great, but some QBs with more experience can recognize the situations better and quicker. The QB factor may also have depended on which Beck would have showed up if not injured.

The long layoff for teams with byes playing teams that just had a home game 9 or 10 days before was likely biggest single factor. Those other teams didn’t just get to knock the rust off first and play a real game at home, but they also had a couple of extra days to recover afterwards over a normal week in between games.

Byes would have helped if a team had gotten into semis or final against any team that had to play extra game, but it hurt them for their first game after 3 1/2 weeks of not playing one.

This is funny. You know what is else is funny? The 3 coaches Notre Dame fired before Brian Kelly showed up and made them relevant

I can see how players would much rather play for Freeman than Kelly.
Kelly has the excitement level of a trip to the dentist for a root canal.

It’s NIL you fricking mouth breathers. Freeman isn’t Knute Rockne. God some of u are dumb. Everything is different now. Kelly brought Notre dame back to life. They were losing to Navy every year ffs. Pure stupidity.

So LSU is poor or undesirable then, for the record which is it?
