Maybe; but Jaylin Smith’s injury is the one that dominated sports center and people started putting a cost on playing. And opting our all of a sudden became a thing. Can you compile a list of players that opted out prior to 2017 versus post 2017? Using google, I can’t even get a match for “college football player opts out” prior to 2017. If you type in an earlier year you get lists of best players for the year, top heisman candidates, and so on. Post 2017 you actually pull up lists of players that opted out. And after that hit Clowney put on that Michigan running back, he deserved a breather.
