Yeah.
At 61 he was finishing a 4 year stretch where FSU had finished 2nd, 3rd, 3rd and 4th. He had established himself as a coach who regularly was in the mix for a national title. His team had lost 6 games in those 4 seasons.
We knew what he was at that point.

You kind of can. We've seen coaches leave before where the class disintegrates as the players leave. While you can't necessarily judge the new coach's recruiting ability negatively by a bad first class, you can judge it positively if he retains the majority of the transition class and adds to it.
That's what Kirby Smart was able to do at UGA in his first year... it's a very good sign for a new coach to do well in transition.

I'm sure there were people saying he was a great coach, just can't get it done.
And he didn't even change jobs like Kelly has.

As an LSU fan, I think he has at least a good chance and I don't know of anyone who would've been a better hire.

I mean not really, Miles was a coach for only a few years before LSU, not 31.
Orgeron sure, but I don't think Kelly will get the combo of Brady and Burrow.

You have no idea just how loaded LSU is this coming year. You guys are not head and shoulders above every other program in this conference.

No. Kelly has proven to be able to build a program and now he has more money, better facilities and a better recruiting base than he's ever had. That's on top of his national recruiting ties that he already has.
