HAHA!!! WYHI???

Robert Lane was Tim Tebow before Tim Tebow existed.
He had a pretty good freshman year, but Orgeron moved him to tight end because O was an idiot.

O was an idiot for sure but not for moving Lane to TE. Lane couldn't play QB and even an idiot could see that.

I guess you turned the 2004 egg bowl off early because the bullies were getting their brains knocked out by Robert Lane.

Best passing day ever for Lane:

10/17 for 108 yards 1 TD and 2INTs

Seriously?

Wow. Good comparison. On that note, blindfold yourself and go play in traffic. Let me know how that goes and maybe then, I will allow you post on this board again. Enjoy.

He was a true freshman, with no talent around him.

Jordan Jefferson was 10 of 20 against Ole Miss, but how many of you think he's going to suck?

You mean the game where OM scored like 20 pts and we were giving up like 30 a game? You mean the MSU team that ended up 3 - 8? Is that the Egg Bowl and Lane's defining moment as a QB?

10/20 129 yards 1td, 1 int in loss to Ole Miss
9/21 143 yards 2 td's against the worst d in the SEC
16/25 142 yards 1 td against Georgia Tech

why is Jefferson going to be so good? Doesn't look like he can throw the ball either, plus we never finished better than 9th in the SEC in recruiting before O got here. Jefferson had tons of talent around him this year.

Lane and Schaeffer should have been put in a spread offense and not a pro style offense. Both needed to use their running skills. Lane would have fit into what Mizzou did with Chase Daniels.

I will agree that Lane wouldn't have been too bad. his career was screwed by Coach O..

Ok so we have had some AWFUL QB's the last 5 or so years. Honestly Snead is the best one we have had since Eli. I tried to block things like Lane at qb out, there was also a spurlock in there i think. I am not sure about the name. Point is yes he is the best qb we have had in a while and while he is good I don't see us running a heisman campaign this year, maybe next but doubtful. However if it's done it won't surprise me at all. There again we would be focusing on things we should not be right now.

The better question is who is gonna compare him to one of the best players in the SEC in the last few decades?

Snead has a good of shot as anybody since Eli. I personally think he will end up better.

You will get no argument from me that Snead is not a good QB, but I don't see him as good as Eli.

Come on now. We could say the same for Herb Tyler, who was a better QB than Robert Lane.

So, you're saying that had he played for UF, Lane would have 2 MNCs & 1 Hesiman?

Riiiight...

All of us with 0 experience in coaching or athletic adminstration knew that, but somehow the brilliant minds in Oxford didn't get the memo.

I understand you're upset about the supreme butt-whipping we laid on you in 2008,

LSU fans/alumni have much bigger goals than winning individual games against a rival. Whereas fans of schools like OM deem it a successful season if they beat a rival like MSU or LSU, we tend to have higher goals and aspirations like winning S.E.C. and National Championships.
