White, in his PC, did say that Elander would be considered for the full time HC position as the search goes on. White, according to many Vol-related podcasts, is getting a ton of heat over this appointment.

This where things don't make sense. I don't believe Frank Anderson is going to be considered as he's already 66 years old. Yet Elander is. UT is going to have an interim coach this season as it's October. The only way they don't is signing someone already on staff. Given you have an interim year this year, wouldn't you want to give one of your potential candidates (Elander) a trial run at a reduced cost with effectively no risk? To me, naming Anderson the interim is a slap in the face to Elander. So he's not good enough for the interim tag but He's good enough to maybe be hired full-time? Doesn't sound very logical. It's like he's dangling the carrot of him being a candidate just so Elander doesn't bounce? Seems a bit disingenuous

"Let's milk the fans for every Dollar" Danny is a fan of interviews, apparently. He wants to sit down and be woo'd and have his arse kissed.

He's a great AD. He does a great job raising money and working as a CEO type ensuring some semblance of success across all programs. But he's dropped the ball bigly on this so far. He looked like stuttering sam during the press conference yesterday.

There's going to be a book written about his tenure when it's all said and done, and it won't be pretty. And I imagine TV will provide a lot of on the record color analysis for that chapter.

But who has he actually hired? He didn't hire Tony. He didn't hire Barnes. He more or less brought Huepel with him from UCF, and Huepel's star seems to be plateauing. And based on what I've been hearing, at least from the coach's perspective regarding Vitello wanting out, he doesn't seem to be the easiest guy to work with.

I don't see why Anderson is such a terrible choice, though admittedly I don't know anything about the dynamics between him and the players.

Frank Anderson is a hot head retard just like Vitello, so no change there.

This is being too cute by half. If Elander is a candidate for the full time job, what better way to evaluate him than to make him the interim. Having him coach for a year as an assistant under Frank isn't going to tell you anything about Elander that you don't already know.

Really strange decision.

They're not going to hire a coach from another school by Thanksgiving. The season starts in less than 4 months as of today. Teams are in the middle of fall practice and final roster cuts as we speak. The transfer window has closed to be eligible to play this season. I don't see any sitting head coach leaving before the start of next season. If I were to bet, Tennessee keeps an interim tag on Anderson for the 2026 season and makes a hire next offseason.

AD's aren't going to get fired over baseball success.

Tennessee has a lot of talent, so they should probably be successful this season regardless, but we did see A&M take a nosedive with a ton of talent after losing their coach, so you never know.
