There never was an angry mob. What there was were a bunch of students having a really hilarious time and desperately trying to keep warm (there are vids of them attempting small fires for that purpose and guys casually walking over with a fire extinguisher and putting it out - at one point one guy is cheered for letting them keep a small one going). The news portrayed it differently.
The news portrayed it correctly. Kiffin was trapped in the castle and the villagers down below were thirsty for his blood.

He wasn’t my first choice initially either but college football is a business and nothing happens in any business until the sale is made. Selling and closing is the reason for everything existing in the organization...everything. Kiffen is a brand that will close on seats being sold, coordinators coming on board, recruits buying in, and selling entertainment to those in the market to buy. And also Kief closing the sale on Kiffen definitively puts Arkansas in their place.
