I remember when Pearl was considering the Auburn job that the lack of Under Armour presence in the summer circuit was mentioned as a negative for Auburn.
LOL at that now

I have no doubt that UA was trying to pull similar stuff though. They were trying everything they could do.

Why did Kobe not get arrested but the other coaches did? Same with Pitono why was he not arrested?

Louisville situation was Adidas buying a player. Some bigwig in Adidas was arrested. I'm not sure about the bama guy. At the very least, he took a bribe. The FEDS may be trying to figure out if he gave the parents any money yet. That would be fraud.

Good question. How sad is it that the FBI has uncovered all of this? To be fair though it's not like the NCAA can wiretap or subpoena individuals. Sounds like all of this got too big to get a grasp on. I wonder if the powers that be meet and begin to give the NCAA more power to investigate?

If they had something on the Bama guy, why didn't they arrest him with everyone else? Seems they were missing something with him that they had with everyone else. Not saying he was innocent, clearly we fired his unethical arse. I'm just still not convinced that at least in Bama's case, any NCAA rules were broken. I guess we will find out soon.

The problem the NCAA has is outside entities. They have plenty of power and investigative abilities for players and coaches, but once you step out from there, they lose most everything, except maybe a little on the player family side. They will never get more power than that.

This isn't over yet. The FEDS have more coming. They have basically said so.
The FEDS had Person tapped. They have your suit talking to him and the informant. They have him taking money. They don't know yet if your suit passed any money to the players parents.

A school employee took a bribe to steer a recruit/player. there is an NCAA infraction in there. The severity is what you should question

Good point. The only way to clean college athletic up to get rid of all the big money and good luck with that. We're at the point of no return.

Yup, Ive said this several times. We are ultimately to blame. The fans allow the teams(pro) and the sponsors to extract too much money from us. We have players who cant even make it one year in the league making tens of millions. That is ludicrous. The teams and the sponsors just throw ridiculous money at even a whiff of talent and it all comes from us.
No one is going to boycott or not buy something, they are just going to sit there, take it and every price increase in the future beyond.

This is true. They may nail him yet. Luckily for us, the only players involved that we're aware of was a player who had finished his eligibility and a recruit that hasn't played yet. That alone will likely protect the institution although he may get some prison time. Of course, at this point there's no evidence he paid a player or a recruit like Person did.

He resigned right after our AD fired him. Sort of the way Chizik "resigned."

That is speculation. Could be true but at this point all that's come out is he steered a player finished with his eligibility. No proof he paid either a player or a recruit...yet. Which is why he's sitting at home while your boy is in jail.

Billy Donovan did a press conference and was asked about this. He said that the kids are allowed to meet with agents but not allowed to accept any form of payment. Is t thatblike telling an alcoholic you can go to the bar but just don't drink. How is this not against the rules? It is with football is it not?
