The issue with the NCAA and the big time sports
You form a new organization, and you're likely to see a whole lot of new challenges and suits. The Big 10 and SEC don't want or need that headache, they're fine operating just within established NCAA guidelines. They didn't have to try or defend those positions, the NCAA did.

Agreed. Everyone is making this way more complicated than it needs to be. The top 40-50ish football programs need to go independent, collectively bargain on a network deal, leave all other sports in regional conferences. All rivalries maintained, Lotta bullshite games eliminated, and schedules would be as close to even as they could be.

What are your thoughts on this?
This is not at all surprising. Anyone paying attention could see that was where it was headed once the super conferences started.

I'm not sure the B1G and SEC get along well enough to enter into any partnership agreement with one another quite frankly.
Partners are for dancin' .... not footballin'.

If Herbie is talking, it’s a trial ballon to gauge public opinion. Herbie is ESPN’s mouthpiece.
I don’t care what they do. College ball is ruined and never going to be the same.
Collective bargaining, professional status, affiliation with current NFL, higher ticket costs, higher tv viewing costs, everything will go higher.
I heard on Jox95, a coach said he predicts billionaires will buy teams like billionaires do in the NFL.
If that happens I’m done with Alabama football

It’s been a no brainer for a few years.
