Bryant would have been a college head coach sooner if not for World War II. If not for the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Bryant's prime would have been earlier and would have lasted longer. He, too, served in that war.

I will say this....his statue is damn nice. Alabama should have used the person who done his for Saban's...
