The one thing we all missed out on is Bob having at least a year or two in SEC conf. Think he woulda had fun win or lose. He put together some great teams over his tenure but the ones after 2000 had key injuries at inopportune times. Had he stayed one more year I believe we win title, he built that team that Riley pissed away vs GA.

He won the below game 20-13.

I know hindsight is 20/20, but there was no reason for him to call a fake punt. Oklahoma's defense was absolutely stonewalling our offensive line. We couldn't get the run game going and Croyle was getting pressured all night long. The only reason why the game was even close was because our defense was playing just as good against an elite offense.

I thought that was a brilliant playcall. Bama had a little bit of mojo and were absolutely deflated after that call. Honestly, the bomb afterwards was an even better call given the timing.

Great in the moment coaching by Stoops.

Thats how I recall it. Bama had gained some momentum and Bob sensed it was a big moment in the game.

OU was up 13-3 to start 3rd qtr. OU went 3 and out. Bama went 3 and out. OU missed a FG at the 14. Bama went 86 yards and scored a TD to make it 13-10. That was right before this set of plays. The Bama crowd was lit and had all the momentum. After we scored Bama threw an INT. We didn’t score off it but those 2 series were game changing.
