They are the exact same class now (both sophomores) and that's all that matters, as long as Nix is starting he will never start.

This will be Cord's 3rd season. It will be Nix's 2nd. They are not the same class and Sandberg is not a viable SEC starter and there is no competition.

Glad you know he’s not good enough to leave after 3 years. I’ll take Bryce Young

And Nix didn't redshirt, therefore again, both are sophomores now.

They will both be sophomores this year, juniors next year, etc...

We'll never know if he never gets a shot, again I imagine he transfers too if Nix stinks it up again this year and doesnt get a fair shake.

WTF are you talking about? Nix played like a true freshman in one of the toughest schedule in the country. AND he was the SEC Freshman of the year. In fact his stats were IDENTICAL to Burrow's in 2018.

Why are you so worried about it? Auburn fans are fine with Nix being the guy now. Gatewood transferred after losing the starting job and never even gave himself a chance to play last year in a backup role.

I'm good with never having to watch another true freshman start at QB for my team.

But if Nix can improve just a little bit I can see him having a nice career that Auburn fans will be happy with by the time he's through on the Plains.

Against season ending Top 25 AP teams:

vs. Oregon
13 for 31, 41.9%, 177 yards, 5.7 ypa, 2 TD, 2 INT, 98.29 QB Rating

vs. Florida
11 for 27, 40.7%, 145 yards, 5.4 ypa, 1 TD, 3 INT, 75.85 QB Rating

vs. LSU
15 for 35, 42.9%, 157 yards, 4.5 ypa, 1 TD, 1 INT, 84.26 QB Rating

vs. Georgia
30 for 50, 60%, 245 yards, 4.9 ypa, 1 TD, 0 INT, 107.76 QB Rating

vs. Alabama
15 for 30, 50%, 173 yards, 5.8 ypa, 1 TD, 0 INT, 109.44 QB Rating

vs. Minnesota
17 for 26, 65.4%, 176 yards, 6.8 ypa, 1 TD, 0 INT, 134.94 QB Rating

Threw for more than 177 yards once in 6 tries, only went over 50% passing in 2 of the 6 contests. Only had a decent QB rating in 1 of the 6 contests. Did not throw for more than 6.8 ypa in any of the 6 contests and only 1 of the 6 was over 5.8 ypa.

A not so good one, that's for sure.

So again, if Nix stinks it up again, and Sandberg doesnt get a shot, why should he stick around?

ETA Auburn threw it 50 times for 4.9 ypa against UGA

Why are you laughing? He was the freshman of the year. Did you think somebody else won it?

quote:

vs. Oregon

Top-10 team away from home. Literally won the game on his TD in his first game as a starter.

quote:

vs. Florida

Top-10 team on the road in a hostile environment

vs. LSU

vs. Alabama

I swear LSU fans can be the biggest fricking retards on this site.

Bo Nix 2019
217/377 2542 yards 16 TD/6 INT
Joe Burrow 2018
219/379 2894 yards 16 TD/5 INT

One was a junior and one was a freshman.

Also, still confused about all the white knighting for our backup QB? I could give shite less about LSU's qb competition.

And Joe Burrow wasn’t that good in his first year at LSU. Why can’t you admit Nix wasn’t very good last year?

Because it was a joke, obviously.

Curious as to why the Coach's SEC Freshman of the year failed to make any postseason Freshman all-american list, interesting omission. Seems like another certain SEC freshman did, in fact making any one you look at by comparison. In fact, he was a flat out consensus all-american, yet what accolades did Nix get besides SEC Freshman of the year from the coaches?

Literally sucked arse the whole game but because your defense was elite got the opportunity to win the game in the end.

Does he not plan on playing good teams this upcoming season, because he stunk in almost all those games last year and at best was mediocre.

quote:

Bo Nix 2019
217/377 2542 yards 16 TD/6 INT
Joe Burrow 2018
219/379 2894 yards 16 TD/5 INT

One was a junior and one was a freshman.

Good try leaving out important things like I did above such as performance against Ranked teams.

Nix - 101 for 199, 50.8%, 1073 yards, 5.4 ypa, 7 TD, 6 INT, 101.6 QB Rating
Burrow - 98 for 171, 57.3%, 1240 yards, 7.3 ypa, 7 TD, 4 INT, 127.1 QB Rating

So Burrow's numbers against the teams that mattered were still easily better overall throwing for a much higher percentage and more yards despite 1 less game and much less passes. That was in the ancient offense as well, not the one we have installed now. And FYI, nobody is arguing Burrow's numbers were good in 2018, so not sure why that's your arguing point. Nix was garbage against the good teams last season.

So again I'll continue to ask, why would Sandberg stick around considering they are the same class if Nix sucks it up again this year and he doesnt get a shot?

Who is saying Nix didn't suck last year? He sucked balls against LSU, UF, and thUGA. The point he was making is, it's not out of the question that a true freshman just might improve the following years.

4 year starter at one school usually means someone isn't good enough to leave in 3, so take that for what it's worth.
