I am really having a great time with all of this.

Even if nothing were to come of it, I've had fun.

I hope it was a Newton (Cecil) shakedown and nobody paid. I think Cam should still be ruled ineligible. But, THAT should be the extent of the AU "punishment".

Now, IF the coaches / boosters did pay....then HAMMER away!

I'm an AU fan, and I'll admit it doesn't look good. But I think the NCAA or whoever else is going to need somebody else OUTSIDE of Miss. St. to confirm these solicitation allegations. It's just strange that nobody from AU, Oklahoma, Tennessee or any other school that was recruiting Cam have said anything about his dad asking for money. Why would he only ask one school for money and nobody else?

Maybe Rogers was trying to get money claiming he represented Newton, realized he wasn't going to get any and now he's trying to place the blame on the Newtons. I don't know. Just a thought.

Also, I'm getting tired of all these allegations and unnamed sources. If you've got the goods, PROVE IT! Bring out the documents, financial statements, tapes, phone recordings, etc! Why can't any of these people do that?

Oh wait, probably 'cause they have none.

For anyone with a brain, best case scenario has shifted to vacating wins this season. There is no reason to assume Cam is going to retain his eligibility if tapes actually exist of a freaking payment plan.

The funniest thing that could happen is that Auburn plays Cam and still loses to UGA and Bama then get hammered so bad by the NCAA for playing him that they will become the Vandy of the West.

Look, brah...surely you're not too stupid to understand that those programs' people aren't going to start blabbing to the media...especially this early on.

The NCAA knows who they need to question. If the Newtons sought money, they'll have corroborating witnesses. However, we may not know exactly who they are for years.

Perk up, buttercup.

I think you are exactly right man. I hate the general Auburn. But there are good fans and bad fans. For the good fans I am sorry y'all decided to get involved with all this.

What are you talking about "unnamed sources?" The sources names are out there.

A source told ESPN on Thursday the phone conversations are part of the NCAA's investigation into the recruitment process of the Auburn quarterback. SEC spokesman Charles Bloom said reports from Mississippi State to the league office did not mention the phone calls, while a source said their existence was verbalized to the SEC.
This part bugs me in regard to how the SEC or Miss St has handled this. I don't know who fricked up Miss St or the SEC but someone fricked up because all of this should have come out before the season if people had just done their due diligence.

Name another SEC program whose offense is 1 QB away from great success.

it's called desperation.

It should be pretty obvious why AU won't come out and say he was seeking money.

As for Oklahoma and Tennessee, they aren't going to go public since none of this involves them. But you can bet they will tell whatever they know if the NCAA (or FBI) gets them behind closed doors, and you won't know about it until the final NCAA report becomes public.
