World Championship Wrestling was the name of the Saturday 6:05 TBS show. That's why Ted just renamed JCP to WCW when he bought it and just started calling the show Saturday Night.
They had their own TV title when it was the flagship show of the old Georgia Championship Wrestling territory.

It was the one in the south with Gordon Solie. Whichever that one was.

Came on the Superstation on Saturday evenings before BRAVES BASEBALL!

I think it was called WCW, but it was under the NWA umbrella.

Me and some friends were headed to AU/UF back in '83. We pulled up to a red light in Dothan. There was Flair next to us, in a rented Chevette, with a WCW polo shirt hanging in the back window. I always liked his flair, but knew a lot of it was BS when I saw him in a Chevette.
Hmm...I think you’re lying

Somebody earlier said WCW wasn't around in '83. Maybe it was called Southeastern Championship Wrestling back then.
I just know we looked over and saw Flair next to us in a rented Chevette. Waved to him and he nodded his head.

Yeah, it was the one on TBS. I had never heard of Vince McMahon back in those days.
ETA IIRC, it was Gordon Solie and Jim Coronet......maybe?

Yeah, I am lying. I am trying to smear Flair's good name.

If he wasn't wearing his robe or trunks, how can you be sure it was Naitch and not just some dude in the 80s with blond hair and Ray bans?

Seriouly? Dude was 10 feet from us sitting at a red light. Rick Flair is unmistakable. Stevie Wonder could pick him out of a lineup.

Haven’t watched it since I was a kid, but I don’t see how it’s any different than grown men watching The Walking Dead or Game of Thrones... you know it’s fake but you still sit in front of the TV every week and get emotionally invested in the lives of completely fabricated characters.
