in this age of revisionist history where "historians" are attempting to tear down as many people as they can like Obama's idiot buddy at Harvard "Skip" Gates saying Lincoln was really a racist and other gems, why hasn't someone written a book on how Bryant cheated at Alabama ? I'd think that guy would go to the head of the class like John Feinstein did when he wrote A Season on the Brink in 1986.

I've heard stories about Bryant cheating at Alabama forever. But I have never heard a specific. Not once. When pushed all I get is 'signing so many guys so Auburn or Tennessee wouldn't get them'. Well, you can debate whether that was 'proper' but it was legal and everyone could do that.

The writer who comes out with this book should be able to retire. If its so commonly accepted and well-known, where's the book and what are the stories ?

You answered with nothing but biased assumptions and zero facts. I called you out on it, now frick off.

Finebaum has said on multiple occasions that he was approached by a publisher to write this book several years back, but he declined.

Because if he did he would have to leave the state. He would probably still get hunted down.

Joe,no offense to you, but I have two problems with Finebaum's version of this. First of all,its hard to believe that clown would turn down the money or notoriety that would go along with this. Also, if there is indeed a publisher out there who has access to this claim, its hard to phatom someone else hasn't been approached to do said book. Again, as in my Feinstein analogy, very few people were familiar with his work in 1985.

No kidding. IF there was some type of proof that Bear paid players or cheated in any way at Bama, and someone was stupid enough to write a book about it, I highly doubt they would live long enough to enjoy any profits from it.

All you have to do is post something bad about Bear on a message board and Bama fans will create an account just to bash you for posting it.
