Now that the FBI is the enforcer of NCAA rules it changes everything. The thinking is that coaches, boosters, etc. will now be criminally liable is scary. Wade could in fact go to jail. Auburn's Chuck Person could also get jail time.

But we all know this is just the tip of the iceberg. Every school could be impacted. Do we really want folks going to jail for paying players?

The FBI will now have the power to wiretap coaches, etc.

Will the rules change and allow shoe companies to come clean and buy players for their schools? Will this kill amateur sports or make it truly amateur sports?

ETA: corrected spelling it is Liable.

not without a warrant they won't and never have. That's a pretty basic 4th Amendment issue, bud. They got a warrant to tap Dawkins' phone during their investigation of him. Will Wade's phone wasn't tapped. He was on the other end of the call.

where do you think these recordings came from? I'll give you a hint, it's the FBI. They've had them a long time. If they were going to charge Wade over them, they already would have. Wade has NCAA issues to worry about, not criminal issues.

Whoa, killer. Pull it back a bit. The NCAA being able to leverage FBI information doesn't suddenly change the federally criminal nature of NCAA violations. It was always the case that coaches could be charged if they committed a crime in conjunction with their NCCA infractions.

On what charge exactly? He'll be out of a job for a year or two then be right back at it.

They should start in Auburn, only arrested one there, need to route them all out.
