Big picture, what's the SEC Rant view of Mizzou as a program/member?

...Not just in football but obviously football is the prevailing sport.
From the beginning I wanted them in the SEC, but largely for personal reasons. I also agree with the often floated reasons of expanded geographic reach/markets, etc. I also think/thought they have the potential to carve out a decent niche and pluck players from states like Kansas, Colorado, Illinois, Nebraska who want to play for the best (SEC) but view the south as too foreign--theory of friend who is HS coach at big school in Denver.
Clearly they took a lot of shite on here about the cut of their jib and southern pedigree.
Seems like the general opinions was, and correct me if I'm wrong: they don't fit in well, likely a middle of the road team with the potential for a high or low every now an then. Basketball could be decent but not great, baseball is a dud.
Has that view changed to this point?

We expected them to be another Vanderbilt and we ended up with another South Carolina.
Mark it down as a win for everyone.

The Cardinals are greater than all SEC baseball teams combined, times infinity.

I've always thought pink was underrated as a coach. He's very good at what he does.

I am glad they are a part of the SEC overall and brings a good sports program to our league. I was surprised by their season in football, but think they are legit and will be a good game.

With much better basketball, volleyball, & softball , and much worse baseball.

I agree with you that the majority of the rant has this opinion of Missouri. Did our play on the field in year two change people's minds about Mizzou? I'm not sure.
But I don't care.
We're in the SEC Championship game when everyone other than Auburn must sit at home and watch us play in that game.
Kinda hard to say we're a bottom dweller when we're playing in Atlanta in front of a national audience with national championship implications on the line.

Top class university and fan base! Very glad to have em'! If they beat us then they can apply for Big Six status if Georgia doesn't pull their damn weight soon!

If their stadium wasn't HS football caliber then I can bet they get more respect round here. Seems to
Me that they just started taking football more seriously.

The East side expansion should help change the aesthetics of the stadium for the better.

Mizz will never be the Homecoming Queen, but she is a date you will not be embarrassed to be seen with in public. Kind of like a prettier Arkansas.

Mizzou will never even be the biggest thing in Missouri. That will always be the Cardinals, until the state of Missouri no longer exists.

I'm afraid of what the A&M version of this thread will look like.

This is relevant to the SEC.
The Saints would thump all SEC teams in football too

This is stupid. It's popular on tRant, but our home football attendance ranked 23rd in the nation last year, a year we were under .500.

The secret is hoping someone starts it while your team is preparing for the conference championship game.

The Rams and/or Chiefs could win 5 straight Super Bowls and not unseat the Cardinals.
