the BIG 10
produced Saban and Les Miles
1. Miles was never a head coach in the BIG TEN. He coached at Oklahoma State prior to LSU.
2. Saban's teams improved over the course of his tenure at Michigan State. He went from 6-6 to 9-2 in a much stronger Big 10. The only consistently weak teams in the Big Ten at that time were Minnesota, Illinois, and Indiana.

They keep acting like last year just didnt happen. As if Bielema is just gonna show up next year and wreck shop and anyone who thinks they have any reason to believe otherwise is just an idiot
0-8 in 2013 is a lot more relevant than Rose Bowls he went to by beating Indiana, Purdue, Northwestern and Illinois.

None of those coaches went 0-8 their first year.

No coach should EVER go 0-8 in conference. That is a very bad sign regardless of talent.

it happened. our talent sucked. bert is improving it

highly unlikely it will happen. 2015 should be a good year for us tho
bert may not get it done here. but he has a better background than all those coaches I listed in that other post. On paper he is a damn good hire, if that translates to success on the field remains to be seen. Recruiting is where it starts and he's building us from the lines out. Not only that but he's a proven diamond in the rough talent evaluator and a solid assistant coach finder.
I'd say his chances for success are pretty high

And it wasnt even that he went 0-8, its that many of them werent close. Arkansas wasnt even competitive half the time.
Ive said from day one, you cant come into the SEC West and try to beat Bama and LSU at their own game. Bielema is trying to win like Miles and Saban with significantly less talent. It just wont work.

BB has no business in the SEC and that is obvious every time he opens his mouth.

Houston Nutt had a losing record against both Saban and Miles, only faced both in the same season once and never faced the juggernaut Saban has since built at Bama.
Also, you and I clearly wildly different definitions of success. Nutt finished .500 or below four times and won more than 9 games once in ten years. That being said...

We have absolutely no reason to believe this yet. Nutt has 52 career SEC wins, which is 52 more than Bielema currently has.

What schtick? What has Bielema done in the SEC to make you think he's better than Houston Nutt? Consume more calories?
