How do you figure? It was done in a church with the church's video department recording it. They have public personalities in to chat about balancing their faith and their responsibilities. They bundle up the interviews and sell them as a fund raising tool for the church, which is the basis of the church's copyright claim to have Malzahn's removed from youtube.

you bring this up every time we ask you why a bama fan did something.
Certainly we've done some more shady things so that you don't sound like a broken record.

Wow, I know the post you're talking about and it was an obvious joke. Please tell me that you actually believed this.

Alabama fans were some of UAB and Gene Bartow's biggest fans in the very successful early days of their basketball program yet they stupidly decided to wage war against those same Alabama fans who supported them.
Wimp Sanderson's recruiting tactics and comments toward Bartow didn't help anything.

you're right. Guess you can not expect anywhere to be free from you tube posters.
Clearly the guy posting it is a class act and acted responsibly.

I think you could have used a better word than flamboyant. You make it sound like Elton John was out there throwing passes.

I believe the plan was to get them involved in accidents so that the accident reports would become public record and an investigation could be done on how they obtained the cars. Injury was just a bonus.

Hey genius, the "Bama guy" being mentioned here wasn't the first one to post it. Someone who had access to the original tape posted it on youtube. From there it was copied and edited by the Bama guy and several others.

Kristi Malzahn is a public figure
No she isn't. She is married to a public figure.

who gave this speech
Wrong again.
Yes she is a public figure. When you agree to go on a show to discuss your husband's job and the place he works all while being videotaped you have just become a public figure. Terry Saban goes on shows all the time, but she sure as hell doesn't talk about player attitudes, opposing team fans, how much she loves one certain player, how bad her husband did at his job, or how much she is glad her kids are gone. Nothing Malzahn's wife said was terrible, but she did come across as not supporting her husband and very meddling in the life of the players. Not things prospective employers look for in the wife of their head man.

Exactly. They didn't have her on because she was the checkout girl at the local Wal-Mart...

But that's not really the final score.
Private setting? It was a publicly advertised Q&A in the middle of the week that anyone could purchase tickets for. There was a video camera pointed at her. This is big business, there is no excuse for what she said in this setting if you're in the Auburn/Gus camp.
Tongue in cheek? I mean, don't get me wrong, I think it's hilarious, but you really want her breaking stories about Michael Dyer having character problems? (completely unprompted.) Especially knowing what we know now? Do you think it's appropriate for her to say all the players are stupid? That the whole Auburn fanbase is nuts? I understand she may have been joking at times, like when she's talking about not being impressed with the BCSCG last year - though that was more awkward than funny - but some of the things she is saying are inexcusable from a PR standpoint.
If this is all some underhanded bammer conspiracy, and she really didn't say anything inappropriate, why do you think the schools looking to hire him cared? Do you think they're not smart enough to evaluate something like this even though they get paid millions of dollars to make those kinds of decisions and you spend your days posting here?
You would think knowing what we know now - that they were unhappy with the situation at Auburn - that you idiots could be a bit more objective about this at this point. To blame the guy who edited this is ridiculous; if he didn't, someone else would've, because she was completely out of line with her comments, and is either stupid, insane, a drug addict, or all of the above as far as I can tell from watching that.

To me the meddling issue between Chiz and Gus is the real story in the article, but everyone wants to focus on the video.
So a head coach giving orders to his coordinators is "meddling"?
Control-freak Nick Saban must be the biggest fricking "meddler" in the world then!

Why are you defending her and piling on the guy? All that needs to said about him is he needs a life, but he didn't do anything except splice a video.
She's a dumbass, and its apparent that she cost her husband a couple promising career opportunities, and embarrassed us. She said it while standing on a stage- YouTube or not, it was in public. I don't feel sorry for her one bit, I just feel sorry for Gus and any players she embarrassed.
I don't see why you feel the need to defend her.
ETA: The "meddling" developments are very interesting, indeed.
It at least signals that Chizik isn't as passive of a CEO type as we all thought he was. That could be good or bad, but who knows if it was his meddling that made our offense suck, or if it was just our inexperience.

5 pages and I still don't see what the big deal is. She made a stupid mistake and a guy put it out there. Everybody is already moving on.
