Best thing to happen to Alabama’s football program in a long time

Our standard is to be the most feared program. The team everyone hopes they can avoid in the playoffs until the final game. Instead here we are wallowing with the likes of SMU trying to argue why our 3 losses don’t matter as long as we won 3 good games.

This is the most entitled, undisciplined, unsportsmanlike, and unfocused Alabama team in my lifetime of watching since the Gene Stallings era, maybe with the exception of 2000. No wonder Saban decided it was time.

What message would these players interpret if the committee told them the effort this year is enough? That they can coast through the regular season without focus and the brand and their recruiting ranking would still get them in?

This is hopefully the end of LANK, “player driven leadership”, player and scheme incompatibility, on field temper tantrums, and the numerous other issues that came with DeBoer having to beg a roster to stay instead of reminding them of the responsibility that comes with wearing the jersey.
