Arkansas has a good fan base. The hogs are Arkansas. There is nothing else. I love it that way though. For the most part the SEC has the best.
Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, and LSU are all really good. Hard to pick the best.

Tennessee's attendance ranks in the top five nationally for basketball and football...no other SEC team can say that.
Though you this is pretty pointless as all SEC teams are passionate about their sports program

If they aren't winning they don't show or care too much... evidence of Baseball
UF fans will support baseball more and more as time goes on, the last home weekend against UGA drew in the biggest crowds for a 3 game series ever. Also unlike a lot of other SEC teams FLA fans have a lot of MLB teams like the Marlins, Rays, Yankees, that they pay attention to and care about more right now because they grew up watching them play. LSU doesn't have basically 4 other big state schools to compete with (FSU,UM,UCF, USF), neither do they have 2 MLB teams, 3 NFL teams, 2 NBA teams, or 2 NHL teams in LA.
you could switch around that sentence for any school though, LSU fans don't care too much, evidence of football, if they aren't winning, see Troy game.

I bet you do. When Sherril was at State I prayed for the Death penalty so bad. OM might be one of top tier teams in the SEC if we had the whole state.

That it's not true or its irrelevant when judging a fan base?

Bad example, picture Meyer leaving with Mike Gundy taking over. Now picture watching a 6-3 Florida team down four touchdowns to a crappy Sun Belt team near the end of the 3rdQ.
"Sick to my stomach" took on a new meaning for me in 2008.

I think it is pretty impossible to judge a fanbase. What is the criteria?
If we are going by numbers, UF would probably easily win. By far the largest school in the conference and by far the most popular team in the largest state in the SEC.
Maybe it is by how much people buy? The top 3 sellers in the SEC for 2009,
1. Florida
2. UGA
3. Alabama

Bet our football fans are more loyal... and more numerous than yours.

according to support, loyalty, and passion. I'd go with....
1. Florida
2. Tenn/Bama/Auburn
5. USCe
6. LSU
7. UGA
8. ARKY
9. State
10. OM
im biased, but id put LSU over south carolina and auburn for sure since ive seen both of them have half empty upper decks for sec games before. we may leave early, but at least we were there at all. ALso, LSU fans travel pretty well (other than sec champ games), so you might want to add that criteria to the list. LSU shouldnt be number one, but I'd say top 3 is fair....

thats true. no one in the nation travels like bama and lsu. Tenn travels very well also, but auburn and sc dont as much so with that factor LSU jumps ahead of auburn, but not SC. I went there when holtz was coaching and they went 0-11 and when they got a 1st down you couldnt hear yourself think. Thats fan support

more recent then half the teams on that list if thats what youre going by. USCe and Tenn behind UGA is flat out stupid. And have you been to a kentucky game. they might have more fans, but they dont have anywhere near the atmosphere or passion that OM fans have. And wheres arkansas? Complete fail

FWIW... UT is selling 3 game mini-packs this year to try to sell out Neyland. That's not indicative of an elite fanbase IMO..Then y'all will sell individual game tix in July. If UT's fanbase & support are so great, What is up with this?? All of UGA's season tix are sold & all require a minimum contribution of $250 / ticket to the Hartman fund. Neyland holds about 8000 more than Sanford. Why does such an elite (so called) school & fanbase have to resort to these ACC type tactics to sell tickets?
