Stidham. To say otherwise is like rooting for Russia.

All these guys are fine young talents. You could make an argument for each one. If I had to pick I would split between Allen and Eason.

I don't think anybody really has any idea who will be "the best". However, for the first time in a LONG TIME there is a BUNCH of raw talent in the group, and a bunch of it has shown glimpses of being very good.

Patterson, Fitzgerald, Eason, Bentley and Hurts and have all had really impressive moments, and all of them have had freshman moments. It will all depend on who improves. However, they all have the potential (in different ways) to be 1st Team All-SEC QBs (and All-American type QBs).

Stidham is clearly talented, but a little more of a wild card.

Allen is what he is - very solid, tough and a veteran at this point.

Etling won't win any awards, but with a good playcaller (which he has now) I think he can efficiently run an offense against most defenses (as he showed last year).

I think if allen gets time in the pocket and stops forcing passes he will be the best of the bunch.

If he doesn't get time then it will be anyone's game for the best.

The line was very young this season and took some lumps. They should be a very solid group next season.

Allen sure took some lumps because of them. For his sake, I hope they are better. If White had taken half those hits, he would be dead.

Problem for Allen is he loses all those receivers.

not all, J Corn is still around, and we have some amazing talent at WR who redshirted or played sparingly. Now... The experience is definitely gonna be missed.

Our TE's will be just as good, and help us steal a couple of games. (pun intended)
Our ST's and D Line must have improved or it will be a shootout every game for any chance at a win.

this is etling's stat line for the last eight games of the season with babe as head coach and TE coach calling the plays.

120 complts - 198 attpts - 60% comp rate

1690 total yds - 210 per game = 8.5 yds per attpt

144.5 QB rating - 8 TD passes - 4 ints

Far from the worse and in the top three/four of returning QBs in the SEC.

A new and improved Brandon Harris will be the best QB in the SEC.

He was having to carry much more than he should have. The line left him running for his life all the time and the kid tried to make plays. It was not a good situation for him last year. Give him a good OL this year and he will pick apart a lot of defenses.

Going by QBR, the best returning starters in the league will be:

1 Austin Allen
2 Sean White (yes, really; although I guess he may get benched)
3 Jalen Hurts
4 Danny Etling (yes, really)

Shea Patterson and Jarrett Stidham are the wild cards. Jacob Eason is not in the conversation.

I think Eason did fairly well for a true freshman given the circumstances.

He was the second worst QB in the league, statistically.

In the final month, he had a higher rating than Bentley and Patterson.
