I know you are trolling but Patterson isn't even the best QB in Mississippi. Hell once we see KT he may not even be the 2nd best QB in Mississippi.

Just because Ole Miss is screwed as a team for a while, doesn't mean this OM offense isn't still very, very good and Patterson is going to benefit and be a benefit to that greatly. So Patterson, to answer the question. Now the OM defense is another story if not greatly improved.

Obsessed. Can you never just answer the question. We build bridges, you build fences.

Fitz just scored again while dropping JDAMs all over your bridges

Just going off of last year Fitz was the better QB than Patterson. I think Patterson will be a better QB at the end of next year. Great talent that will have some good wrs to work with.

Is Freeze bringing in someone else to coach QB's?

Again, you just can't stick to the question. Gotta go straight into attack mode. I have no problem saying your QB is really good. He's a great runner and all, but it's the passing where he will need to improve a good bit. He feasted on the weak defenses he played last year (OM's included), but did little against the better defenses either because he was (is) somewhat one dimensional or had little to no help to speak of. Time will tell. But again, he's a good QB. Not arguing that at all. Sorry to disappoint.

You have no idea how much I hate that you are absolutely correct on this.

Are you listening to yourself. You're nit picking a guy throwing 300 yards a game and rushing for 60 a game. All against SEC defenses, two of them on the road. Without ever even taking a snap before. No Mcneese States, no South Alabama's. Right from the frying pan to the fire. 300/60. I suppose you can hope he digresses but surely you know that what he did is likely his floor. And that is still better than all but two returning quarterbacks in this league. Patterson Lock or Allen will lead the league in passing. I don't think fourth place will even be particularly close. Deal with it.

Are you describing Fitz or the Dallas Cowboys starting QB. The same critiques will be made. You act like Fitz won't progress any while Patterson will explode. Mullen had the track record developing QBs. Fitz is ahead of Dak in the progression curve while a red hot early enrollee is pushing Fitz. If Fitz can keep his head on straight these will be exciting times in Starkville.

I hope he's passing for 300 yards a game in 40+ attempts with the Ole Miss running game, or lack thereof. I'm saying he's not as good as Austin Allen right now (he's not), not that he sucked as a freshman. And Bo Wallace put up big numbers in the Mickey Mouse offense Hugh Freeze runs. That didn't make him awesome in and of itself. I don't see why Ole Miss fans are getting so salty about saying Patterson isn't as good as Allen in the first place.

You don't know if he is or not. He was better in high school. He was better in his first sec action. We aren't talking about who was better last year. That's irrelevant. But you make a good point about this Mickey Mouse offense, it made Bo Wallace a top ten all time SEC passer. Why wouldn't you put your money on the highest rated QB recruit in this league in a decade to do very well in it? Especially when he already has, under very difficult circumstances at that. I think Allen is a good quarterback in a great offense and that Patterson is a great quarterback in a great offense. I will be more surprised if Patterson doesn't break the single season passing/total yards record this year or next than if he does. But at least you're pushing Allen as your pick as the leagues best QB. A worthy option. I still think it will be Lock or Patterson, the two most talented ones, that take the crown.

Hurts will likely have the best stats because he plays for Bama and they will not play very many teams that can force him to be a QB.
I would want Eason as the Gator QB if I was chossing the one who is actually the best and not the one who has the best stats because of the team he plays for.

A lot of these people have never seen a real QB
LSU still really has not figured out what the forward pass really is

um, no. you know Allen's 1st SEC action was last year, right?

how do you figure? you seem to think high school is relevant but not last year? ok

like facing 3 of the 4 worst pass defenses in the SEC?

Arkansas had a dreadful OL last year and a bottom 5 rush offense in the conference. They were able to do what they did because Allen is really good

In the SEC or for Ole Miss? So you're "expecting" him to surpass numbers put up by three Heisman trophy winners? Good lord

Let's take Drew Lock since Patterson's sample size is too small.
LSU: 17/37 167 yards 0 TD 1 INT, -15 yards rushing
UF: 4/18 39 yards 0 TD 2 INT, 18 yards rushing
UK: 18/31 220 yards 2 TD 0 INT, 34 yards rushing
UGA: 23/38 376 yards 3 TD 3 INT, 9 yards rushing
USC: 23/40 302 yards 1 YD 2 INT, 3 yards rushing
Total:
85/164 (51.8%) 1104 yards (220 ypg) 6 TD 8 INT (ouch), 49 yards rushing (2.23 ypc)
Those were the top 5 pass defenses he faced last year in the SEC

Allen had previous experience, but Patterson averaged more rushing and passing yards per game LAST year. It's also fair to point out that he played behind a line that was every bit as beaten up as Arkansas' and also played half his snaps without Engram or his stats would have been much better.
Chad Kelly is second all time in single season passing and total offense in the SEC. Bo Wallace is ninth all time in career passing. I expect Patterson to pass both of those marks. He is the most talented quarterback in this league. He will be the best, or at worst top three, in this league next year along with Lock and likely Allen. It's not a risk at all to bet on SP to end the year as the best quarterback. You're saltiness about it won't change that.

he averaged fewer yards per passing attempt and had a much lower completion percentage and rating. he threw the ball, on average, 45 times a game.

I'm not salty at all. Ole Miss fans, however, scoffed at the idea that anyone was better. That's hilarious. You remember that time Jeremy Johnson was a Heisman candidate based on a couple of games? How did that turn out? Maybe wait until Patterson has played more than 3 games before anointing him as the chosen one

What fans scoffed at the idea that anyone was better? Most of us recognize that Allen and Lock are good, experienced, and play in offenses that will let them shine. Patterson has played enough for everyone to know that he is really good and is going to put up some huge stats in this offense. If we need to wait to see how he does it's only because we really need to wait and see how any of them do if we are going to be talking about who will be best NEXT year. It's a prediction. And it's a reasonable one.
