Patterson or Lock is the only option here. Allen, Eason and some others will have nice numbers but will pale in comparison to those two. There are a couple of guys who will rush for a lot of yards but still not hit the broad side of a barn.

Austin Allen threw for 3500 yards and 25 TDs last year with arguably the worst line in the conference. As of now, he is far superior to Shea Patterson

Austin Allen had every bone in his body shattered last year. Based on the games I saw I can only assume he is confined to a hospital.

Seriously though, that kid got the living shite kicked out of him.

Well if by far superior you mean threw for more yards last year, then yes you're right.

An auburn fan talking about passing game?

Given the QB injuries the past two years, I see the irony in this post as well. But an LSU fan defending their passing game is just as ironic.

I expect Jalen Hurts to be a more accurate QB than last year. His running will continue to soften the passing lanes, he has great talent around him, and Tua will provide competition. I also think Fitzgerald and Stidham will have great seasons as well.

your QB is the same this year as last year. He is not good.

far superior in he had a higher QB rating by quite a bit, a much better completion percentage, much higher yards per attempt, higher rate of TDs thrown. He's just a better QB than Patterson right now.

I mean your sample size on Patterson right now is A&M, State, and Vandy. Danny Etling threw for about as many yards against A&M as Patterson did, their defense was complete butt cheese. State blew y'all out, and they also had the worst pass defense statistically in the conference. Vandy, the best defense he played against, he went 20/42 for 22 yards

But those three teams rounded out the bottom 4 pass defenses in the conference last season

But no, Allen is good and he plays in a great offense. A rule of thumb for ranking SEC quarterbacks, always have whoever plays quarterback at Ole Miss and Arkansas in your top three and you'll look like you're not a total dumbass at the end of the season.

The only thing we know about Auburn's QB is that he can throw for a lot of yards against Big 12 teams.

Good luck with that.

You'd be hard pressed to really find an LSU fan defending the passing game. I think most are just optimistic with the new OC hire.

Well us in the know, know that NFL scouts have heralded him as one of the best prospects to come through in a long time, and that he looks better than advertised
