2007 Darren McFadden.
Rushed for over 200 yards 3 TD
Passed for 40 yards and another Touchdown as Arkansas beat #1 LSU

He was a trash can last year, but Costello putting up 623 yards and 5 tds has to be up there.

McFadden was a beast

Yeah Costello has to be #1. Best single game passing performance of all time in SEC history.

Quincy Carter had 395 yards of offense and 2 tds in an upset win back in 1998.

That may be the best game I've ever seen in person.

Pistol Pete Maravich

I know this is a troll thread but ill give you a serious answer. I’m only going to go by what I’ve seen but I’ve attended about 95% of LSU home games since the 80’s.
I’ve had a number of discussions about this with friends, it really depends on how you want to slice it but I think quality of opponent and magnitude of the game or situation have to factor in. When you take all of it into account I’d say Tyrann Mathieu’s game against Arkansas in 2011, which was #1 vs #3, is the best single effort, in the biggest spot, I’ve seen in Tiger Stadium.
Kevin Faulk ran for 250 yards in one half against Houston in 1996 is #2. LSU was actually trailing at half in that game (Faulk was suspended) but he completely flipped the game in a way that I’ve never seen before or since.
#3 is Cecil Collins against a good Auburn team in 1997. He ran for about 250 yards and 3 TDs in a losing effort.
For opposing teams:
I’ve always said Champ Bailey is the best opposing athlete I’ve ever seen, and he had a nice game but Shaun Alexander as far as opposing players is probably #1, Quinnen Williams for Bama in 2018 is probably #2 as that Bama defense wasn’t even that good but he was so dominant in the middle it didn’t matter. McFadden and Costello would come in after those two.
Taken all together:
#1 Tyrann 2011 vs Arky
#2 Kevin Faulk 1997 vs Houston
#3 Shaun Alexander 1998
#4 Quinnen Williams 2018
After that it gets dicey and there’s a lot of great performances by LSU players and opponents that could be listed.

It's easily Shaun Alexander. He put 300 and 4 TDs on LSU in what was like 2.5 quarters, if I remember correctly, because the coaches didn't put him in the game until mid second quarter.
Shaun's running style was smooth as silk. A real thing of beauty.

Nope, that’s 3rd though, at least since the late 80’s

I feel like if that footage had been recorded with something better than the potato that used, it would look even more humiliating for the home team.

That was my pick if it was any sport. You beat me to it. I never seen him play except for videos but the guy was unreal for his time.

I say Shaun Alexander 1996 near 300 yards and 4 tds.
1996 in Baton Rouge, 26-0 I remember it well.
That score in Baton Rouge got me thinking about 2002 in Baton Rouge, 31-0.
Which got me thinking about the score in 2016 in Baton Rouge, 10-0.
Which got me thinking about 2018 in Baton Rouge, 29-0.
You know what? Dorothy had it right. "There is no place like home."

I hate to say it but you’re correct Bamas defenses have been arse since 2017/18. Last years defense improved greatly as season went on but still not up to standards.

Wasn't he listed as the 3rd tailback and a freshman?

Why do you include 2017? Which was also the last year of Jeremy Pruitt.
