Don't get so touchy about it. We recruit on the offensive line as well as anybody.

I think there's a likely chance all 5 of the guys listed for UT play in the NFL. It should be our best unit with a true 10-11 man rotation. Good collection of talent and experience. I think we lean on that group heavily in 2017

You're right it was just total coincidence that when bama started dominating in recruiting is when they started dominating on the field.
yeah Bama gets a shite load of 5 stars and 4 stars but they don't all develop. They just get enough of them to cover the flops. Recruiting rankings certainly help but a shite load of guys under perform or over perform.

As for the troll part of your post several sites have Kentucky's line as top 5 in the SEC.

I don't have a good feeling about starting two freshmen at OT, especially Wilson. He's a big kid and not used to the kind of speed or techniques he'll face at this level.

If we are gonna suck at OT, we might as well suck with guys with potential.

I don't know if Auburn will have the best offensive line in the SEC, but they have no excuse to be bad. Too much talent, too much returning experience and too much competition.

Think Jackson starts at center? It's nice to have two 5* that didn't play much last year just waiting.

And also that Kentucky sucks at recruiting and sucks on the field.

Kentucky had one of the best offensive lines in the conference last season and only lost Toth.

Nice try though.

Whoever's best, freshman or not. I'm not throwing out any names because I don't know, but my guess is Wilson won't win the job right away.

Our Oline is my greatest concern. I know the potential exists, but I would argue it has hurt us in the last 3 seasons almost as much as QB play, excluding Nick the Quick in 2014. Historically returning starts is huge. However, as of the bowl game last year we still didn't have a true left tackle. I guess at this point we are hoping James has a Light Bulb moment like Robinson did in 2013. James has the talent to do that IMO.

I think we'll all be surprised if Auburn doesn't crush it offensively this year. Gun slingers and a veteran line are hard to come by.

It's a SDS article that has been copy and pasted. Link is at the bottom of the OP. You'll have to ask them.

Slide Trey Smiff out to RT at midseason and put Boulware at RG imo

The linked SDS article uses projected depth charts posted back in May by ourlads.com - more updated depth charts were issued two months later with the media guides during the SEC Media Days:

quote:

10. South Carolina 0.8812: LT Malik Young 0.8615, LG Donnell Stanley 0.9317, C Alan Knott 0.8672, RG Cory Helms 0.8412, RT Zack Bailey 0.9045.

Stanley is our highest rated OL on our roster, so the difference was enough to bump us ahead of Florida for 9th in the SEC.....
